Carnegie Hall

Alleluia! Gala Concert at Carnegie Hall to benefit the new Center for Music and Liturgy at Saint Thomas More Chapel at Yale University Monday, June 29, 2015 at 7:30pm Saint Thomas More: the Catholic Chapel and Center at Yale University, invites you to a gala benefit concert at Carnegie Hall on June 29 at 7:30 pm. 

Entitled Alleluia!, the concert will be a celebration of classic and newly composed Catholic music, featuring the talents of over 600 performers from Norway, Finland, England and the US. An International Festival Chorus of 400 voices will be accompanied by a full symphony orchestra and over 200 handbell players, including the Reykjanesbær Music School Bell Choir (Iceland).

The concert will feature the world premiere of the Mass of the Divine Shepherd, by Julian Darius Revie, Composer in Residence of the Center for Music and Liturgy at Saint Thomas More. 

The Mass of the Divine Shepherd is the first orchestral setting of the revised English Order of Mass, and was written specifically for the evening. 

The concert is the formal launch of The Center for Music and Liturgy at Saint Thomas More, a new initiative that strives to enhance musical excellence in the worldwide church by supporting new Catholic music and training student interns, parish cantors and parish music directors. The center also maintains an electronic database of sacred music as well asvarious electronic apps that allow parishes to download sheet music and receive musical instruction for free.
