Something to Think About

Over at Church Militant today, Michael Voris put out a Vortex show entitled HUNDRED YEARS’ WAR:  Things get worse before they get better. Really?” speaking to the need for Catholics to “fight” against the fall of the world and not being “Pollyanna's”.

Voris makes the assumption that Catholics aren’t truly fighting against the corruption in our Church and our nation/government because so many believe that “things will get a lot worse before they get better”.

He says,  No one could have thought, even one generation ago, that any of the current conditions would be so prevalent, yet here we are. All of this, of course, suggests that things will get worse. On that score, we often hear the expression "Things will get a lot worse before they get better." The first part of that is certainly true, but the back half, "before they get better," has in there an assumption not rooted in anything realistic.

Who says things will "get better" or that there is some magical trajectory that things always improve? Most of humanity is damned. It certainly doesn't apply in the spiritual war, so why would anyone think it applies in the natural order of events? It's a Pollyanna reading of historical events. Left to their own natural arrangement, things get worse, not better.”

I take offense at his statement, “not rooted in anything realistic”, as if Catholics aren’t doing anything at all. We are just dead things floating along with the current. We aren’t dead and very many of us are certainly not going with the current.

Mr. Voris continues by saying, “Middle school students can learn about masturbation to pornography, get their biological sex characteristics cut off and even kill their children, all without their parents' knowledge, much less, consent. It took a century to get here and now, with all the momentum, it is only going to get worse.

Where is the organized counterattack? Where is the Catholic military response to this aggression? Your country, your land, has not been infiltrated. It's been invaded and is now occupied, and too many think clicking a petition or reposting some clever satire on Twitter is sufficient.

They want you to think that. It makes you feel secure, lulls you into a false sense of security, makes you feel like you are in the fight — but you're not (not in any meaningful way, that is). It's like voting Republican; sure, why not? But don't expect anything on that score, except a minor win here or there.”

I’ve got two thoughts on this, first Freemason’s founded the United States of America and perhaps it is doomed to fail because of that. Should the Freemason’s American experiment fail, what might rise up in its place? Something I occasionally contemplate.

Now no offense intended to Mr. Voris, but here’s something the single, never married, never a parent didn’t address.

My second thought, Catholic parenting. That is the ONLY “counter attack” that will create the army needed on this earth to fight this war.

Catholic parents, most of us I would think, know what our Lady said at Fatima, “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. Don't be afraid…because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue.”

We are here now. We are in the “final battle” our Lady warned us of. What the world needs are Catholic families raising decent, well taught and informed Catholic children. Homeschooling them or sending them to proven good Catholic schools and raising them in the Faith is how we fight against everything wrong in the world.

We convert nations beginning with raising devout Catholic children who will grow up to be priests, religious, and/or devout Catholic parents themselves raising the next generation after us. The first commandment God gave to Adam and Eve (besides not touching the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge) was to procreate! We are called to raise children! The battle has always been about the family.

Voris continues, “You need a fighting force before you can deploy it. Right now, the "force" resembles little else than a ragtag, confused gathering of a few people aimlessly wandering about, dazed and confused and clicking on things at their keyboards.

An army, a military, a militia — rooted in Catholic truth, trained and equipped for battle — needs to be built up. Part of all that includes knowledge of the past. How did we get here, who were the players, what did they espouse and so forth? This is a major reason we are asking for your support here at the end of the year, to keep Church Militant as the tip of the spear in this effort.”

He doesn’t see-or simply fails to mention, that it’s the Catholic fathers and mothers raising children that create the “fighting force”. Too many Catholics in my opinion are looking OUTSIDE of their family. As if the fix is simply donating to this or that organization. Sure support good organizations that you trust are making a difference, but focus first on your family. Your children are the next generation-how are you preparing them to live, thrive and survive what’s coming next?

We must all raise our children to the best of our abilities. I’m not naïve in thinking all our children will remain in the Faith. Sadly, we know this isn’t the case in society today- we’ve seen it in our own families. Yet this is our fight. Catholic parents must battle to keep our families intact and never give up on a wayward adult child (or any family member) that wonders away from the Faith. Pray and have faith like Saint Monica.

Mr. Voris ends by asking for a donation so Church Militant can continue their fight.

“Please contribute whatever you can to our continuing efforts here at this apostolate, to lay the groundwork for the counterattack. It must come — or give up any hope of things "getting better" after they get worse. Without a fight, they only get worse after they get worse.”

Maybe I have tunnel vision, but all I’m hearing in my head & heart right now are the words of Our Lady of Fatima: “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. Don't be afraid…because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue.”

There’s another huge problem in the United States with parenting children that needs to be addressed. I’d like to see more Catholic outlets (including Church Militant) talk about this. Parentless children.

If you don’t have children have you considered adopting or fostering a child? Think of a parentless child in our nation today…they often know nothing of God. They’ve been abandoned, or orphaned and have no one to love them, guide them, prepare them or raise them up in the Faith that will save them and our society from falling further.

According to the United States Census Bureau, homosexuals are adopting and fostering more children than heterosexual people. My heart breaks for these children.

From the ACLA Williams Institute (2013):

Adopted children
Same-sex couples raising children are four times more likely than their different-sex counterparts to be raising an adopted child. Among couples with children under age 18 in the home, 13% of same-sex couples have an adopted child compared to just 3% of different-sex couples. More than 16,000 same-sex couples are raising an estimated 22,000 adopted children in the US (see Figure 4).

Among all children under age 18 being raised by same-sex couples, approximately one in ten (10%) are adopted, compared to just 2% of children being raised by different-sex couples. In total, 1.4% of all adopted children under age 18 living in households with same-sex or different-sex couples live in a same-sex couple household.

Parenting of foster and other children
Same-sex couples are six times more likely than their different-sex counterparts to be raising foster children. Among couples with children under age 18, 2% of same-sex couples are raising a foster child compared to just 0.3% of different-sex couples. Approximately 2,600 same-sex couples are raising an estimated 3,400 foster children in the US. In total, 1.7% of foster children living with same-sex or different-sex couples are being raised by same-sex couples.”

From the United States Census Bureau 2020:

Who Is More Likely to Adopt?

Overall, same-sex couples were more likely (3.1%) than opposite-sex couples (1.1%) to adopt a child.  In fact, 20.9% of same-sex couples with children had adopted children; the same was true for 2.9% of opposite-sex couples with children.

Same-sex couples were also more likely (0.5%) than opposite-sex couples (0.2%) to foster children.

Have we Catholics forgotten about these children in need? I hope not.

What would our nation...our world look like if Catholics worked harder to adopt and foster ALL the abandoned children we could?

Something to think about…

In Christ,

Julie
