I have been blessed to grow up knowing countless wonderful priests, deacons, religious. I have known of some of these deeply troubling issues as well. I pray that the Church will not "be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with GOOD." There are so many deeply faithful and orthadox Catholics in New Orleans. I have to admit, the reference to "the archdiocese of New Orleans" followed by many strong, negative comments made me cringe a bit, knowing all the good and holy things that are also part of the archdiocese. I understand your post, of course. Just know that there is much more to the Catholic Church in New Orleans and this weak link is not its entire identity. Unfortunately, it is a loud part of the archdiocese at the moment (as it is in society as a whole). We are called to overcome evil with GOOD. "The Spirit that is in you is greater than the spirit that is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Jesus died to defeat evil, and if we stay on His side (the Truth) we will never be truly lost or defeated. Please pray for New Orleans. Pray for the thousands and thousands of faithful there, and pray for the unfaithful and confused. We all need conversion in one way or another. Thank you for your commitment to faithfulness.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12125911795714371784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149438906545544596.post-89749957759627078532015-07-19T23:07:46.111-04:002015-07-19T23:07:46.111-04:00It is difficult enough reining in the recalcitrant...It is difficult enough reining in the recalcitrant liberals outside of the Church (mainly the demonic Democratic party). When we must fight those who purport to be Catholics in our own dioceses, including priests and bishops, it would seem hopeless. We know we win with Christ in the end but the battle is raging visibly and invisibly. Thanks, Liam, for the Fr. Z reference. I am heartened by his support and by the fact that he doesn't mince words. Would that more priests address the atrocities head on. I love his wit, lol.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10295216097759159424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149438906545544596.post-1072601159961310652015-07-19T17:47:38.082-04:002015-07-19T17:47:38.082-04:00Thank you all for the comments.

This does not help LBGT people, it harms them.

I pray this Archdiocese and any others like them put an end to this sort of thing.

In Christ,

Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Connecticut Catholic Cornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11640448130713614258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149438906545544596.post-48517839910190321512015-07-19T17:11:18.587-04:002015-07-19T17:11:18.587-04:00Father Z.'s Blog has something posted today re...Father Z.'s Blog has something posted today related to this issue.

http://wdtprs.com/blog/2015/07/d-baton-rouge-man-in-same-sex-marriage-denied-communion-at-funeral/Liam Ronanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01376666519733160167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149438906545544596.post-77546068246432685442015-07-19T16:57:04.407-04:002015-07-19T16:57:04.407-04:00The LGBT page has been replaced with this:

Presenting it like that completely distorts it.

And of course, the Archdiocese will bizarrely then go on to contradict that Vatican document regarding the Bible's view of homosexuality. So, if the Bible don's say it's morally wrong, why IS it wrong? Was it just some edict from Pope Linus XXII?

Re: better a steady gay partner than a bunch of them? Why? Did Pope Linus say that, or maybe it was Aquinas?

It is of course all an incoherent and evil muddle.

If a person were of homosexual inclination, the worst thing they could do would be to believe any of this stuff. In the name of "pastoral care" the Archdiocese is offering them poison and then using their website to invite them to drink it. Nothing will stop it until the end times. We must remain very close to the Blessed Virgin so that we may not despair. The Church Militant must not be slothful. We must not be lukewarm. We must fulfill the expectations of Our Father which include building up His Kingdom here on earth.
