Fr. Dan strikes again!

In August of 2013 (the summer Fr. Dan became a priest), I ran into Fr. Dan Fitzpatrick on Twitter who was actively promoting the often pornographic, rape filled violent show "Sons of Anarchy" on Twitter (he called it an "epic show").

See here: http://connecticutcatholiccorner.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-priesthood-pornography-and-violence.html

When I questioned Fr. Dan about his not only viewing such shows, but promoting it on Twitter he at first laughed it off.  I mentioned the graphic sex, sin and violence the show is wrapped around and Fr. Dan got silent with me.  Then when another Catholic questioned him about viewing such material he deleted his twitter account, created a new twitter account and blocked myself and the other Catholic who dared to question his promoting such offensive viewing material.

I kept track of Fr. Dan since then (had to create another Twitter account to do it) and found him to be as clueless as the summer he became a priest.  In my opinion he hasn't learned or grown in the true Faith at all since 2013.

Yet this unorthodox priest is quite popular in pubs and with his podcasts where he "teaches" the faith (God help those who listen to him!):

Now, Fr. Dan is back.  This time he is threatening to sue a Catholic blogger, Clare over at Faith in Our Families Blog (just like another priest we know) for attempting to correct him in another error.  Read Clare's story at Restore-DC Catholicism and at Faith in Our Families (who confronted Fr. Dan in his numerous errors like supporting gay marriage in Ireland on his Facebook page -below- and promoting the belief that the Holy Spirit is female on Twitter- thanks to another liberal priest).

This priest simply will NOT tolerate ANYONE who dares to rebuke him or question him about anything!

Fr. Dan has got to be disciplined by the Church and PROPERLY taught the official teachings of the Church!  Catholics do NOT need this sort of intolerant bad example priest leading them into sin and heresy.  We don't need priests who teach their personal opinions- we can get that in any protestant community.  We need and must have priests who teach official Church doctrine- ALWAYS.

HOW did this guy become a priest in the first place??

Pray to God that Fr. Dan either changes his ways or is REMOVED from his position before he does any more damage. And pray for the souls of all the people who might be or have been, led astray by this and other wayward priests.

In Christ,

Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Addition:
I found it interesting that Fr. Dan's sidekick, Fr. Marc first insults the Catholic blogger on Twitter saying "you're a hurtful abusive little woman that needs a hobby. You're no help to my church" and then speaks out of the other side of his mouth saying "You accomplish more by kind words and a courteous manner than by anger or sharp rebuke".

Fr. Marc's Twitter accounthttps://twitter.com/frlydensmith (by the way, he deleted the insult from his account- clearly not before the blogger at Faith in our Families saw it-see her blog post).

Mother's Day and aborted babies

As Mother’s Day approaches I am filled with mostly wonderful thoughts.  Remembering my own excitement the first time I was counted among the many women who could celebrate Mother’s Day for the first time.  I also remember all the Mother’s Days of my childhood, making cards for my own mother and grandmothers and great grandmother.  Picking flowers in the yard and field behind my house, wrapping them in Barbie ribbons (Mom wasn’t much of a crafter, so I had to make due), holding them behind my back waiting until she poured over each word my broken Crayola’s had written, including the X’s and O’s under my neatly printed name.  When she looked up smiling from my handmade card I would say “Happy Mother’s Day!” as if she hadn’t known what day it was.  My little brother beside me repeated all I did and looked to me to see if he got it right.

When I was older and married with my first and then second child, Mother’s Day became even more profound.  Now it was me reading the handmade cards my children created for me, and placing their flowers in a prominent place in the house where I could show everyone who came over what my beautiful children had done for me on Mother’s Day.  Precious memories.

Memories some people will never ever have.  Instead Mother’s Day for some of them is filled with a haunting void- a place that a child should have filled, but instead guilt and emptiness is all there is.  Still others are so cold and empty it filters through their brains but nothing touches their hearts.  I’m not talking about the pain and tragic suffering of a Mother who lost her child to death.  I am talking about a mother who paid someone cold cash to murder her child growing in her womb.

One such woman I am thinking of this week is Jenny Kutner, a writer at Salon who last August wrote about her planned abortion.  Her callous and cold selfish online story has haunted me since I read it last August...

I wrote about her back then, about what she had done and how there was no motherly instinct in her at all to love and protect the child growing in her womb.  Instead she was filled with disdain and disgust at the tiny child.  Her story still haunts me as does the child she heartlessly killed.  I can't help but wonder if she feels differently today.

Has what she's done had any effect on her at all?  Regret?  Remorse?  Guilt? Depression?  Sadly, I think not going by her subsequent writings on birth control and sex.

Still, I wonder how she feels today as Mother’s Day approaches.  This first Mother's Day since her abortion...a day she might have celebrated with a child in her arms.  How will she feel every Mother’s Day for the rest of her life knowing she paid someone to murder her child because the timing was wrong?  How do the people who supported her “choice” to abort her child feel?  Her mother, who would be a grandmother today?  Her father, who would be a grandfather?   Are they thinking of the grandchild they helped murder?  Do they wonder what color eyes or hair their grandchild would have?  Do they miss holding and loving this child they helped abort?  Do they recall their dead grandchild at all?

How about her 'supportive' aunts?  Uncles?  Friends?  All those people who told her they supported her “choice” to pay another human being to kill the life growing within her.  The life of HER child…a child that would one day create Mother’s Day cards for her, pick flowers for her and call her ‘mommy’.  That child is dead this Mother’s Day.  They helped killed him/her.  Collectively, with Kutner's choice of abortionist, these people murdered this child.  Kutner and all her supporters will never know that innocent child because together this murderous group helped another human being snuff out this child’s life.  Does anyone of her "supporters" think of this child?

I hope they are thinking of Kutner’s baby this and every Mother’s Day for the rest of their lives.

I hope they feel guilt and remorse.  I hope they pray to God for forgiveness for what they’ve done- the murder they've committed.  That child’s blood is on all their hands.

I wonder if they ever think of that?  Do they care?

For the sake of the souls of every single person who has had an abortion, performs an abortion and who supports abortion, I pray you will repent for what you have done/are doing.  It's murder.

This Mother's Day, I am asking my readers to PRAY for the mothers and fathers who have murdered their children, and for those who helped and offered their support in the butchering of a human being.  And pray for the end of abortion.

Mother's Day is a time to celebrate our children and the mothers and grandmother's who give them life, but we can't forget those the world has lost because they were aborted.  We can't forget them...ever.

In Christ,

Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

EWTN Press Release: EWTN Wins Gabriel Award

EWTN Wins Gabriel Award For
Religious Television Station of the Year

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – EWTN Global Catholic Network has been honored with a Gabriel Award for Religious Television Station of the Year for the third year in a row! The award, which recognizes the Network’s total programming and community service, is part of a prestigious annual competition sponsored by the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals.

EWTN Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw expressed his gratitude for the honor. He noted, “A Gabriel Award is especially meaningful to EWTN because the awards are presented for programs that uplift and nourish the human spirit and affirm the dignity of human persons – something EWTN strives to do every day. We thank the Catholic Academy for this special recognition.”

“EWTN is the beacon of Catholic broadcast television,” said one of the judges. “It is a consistent and true voice of the Faith. The tape accompanying this entry showed a broader range of programming than I was aware of from my viewing of the Network. Great work as always.”

According to another judge: “The entry had very high production values throughout. The film used excellent images, top-notch CG [on-screen graphics], and a lot of hard work covering everything from the discoveries of a young Catholic child to contemporary trends in the worldwide church. As a viewer, you knew the piece was promoting a Catholic worldview, but never felt like you were being hit over the head with it. Very well done.”
The Gabriel Awards, which is open to both secular and religious television and radio stations and producers in the U.S. and Canada, will be presented Thursday, June 25 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo Hotel in Buffalo, N.Y.

EWTN President & Chief Operating Officer Doug Keck thanked the judges for their comments, saying. “I am proud that the work of the EWTN team is being recognized for excellence. The Network’s programming is a result of a lot of hard work and prayers on behalf of many individuals, particularly Peter Gagnon, Vice President of Programming and Production; Enrique Duprat, Vice President of Spanish Programming; and John Elson, Director of Program Acquisitions & Co-Productions.”

In addition, the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network’s “Blessed2Play” received a Certificate of Merit for an episode entitled “Life of Christ.”

Host Ron Meyer was also very grateful for the recognition. He noted that “Blessed 2 Play” highlights the faith witness of athletes and sports professionals each week. “I am grateful to the estimated 200 athletes, coaches, authors and broadcasters who have sacrificed their time to be guests on the show and make Blessed2Play what it is.”

“Blessed 2 Play” airs 2:30 p.m. ET Fridays and 4:30 p.m. ET Sundays. Viewers can listen via EWTN’s network of affiliates (www.ewtn.com/radio/amfm.htm), on satellite radio (www.sirius.com/ewtn), or on iHeartRadio (www.ewtn.com/radio).
