The Great Adventure Catholic Bible

OK, the title is kinda hokey but I like what this Bible will include.

Ad quoteHow you’ll learn...
*Color-coding for easy reference. Uses the popular Bible Timeline system that’s used by hundreds of thousands of Catholics to learn the Bible
*Articles to help you understand the overarching story and important covenants that tie the entire Bible together.
*Key event callouts to help you quickly identify important points in the Bible that ordinarily take readers a long time to find and categorize in their head.
*Detailed charts giving a visual overview of important characters, key events, maps, major covenants, and historical context.
*Newly Designed Full-Color Maps to help visualize Bible story locations.
Being a convert to Catholicism, I grew up using Protestant reference Bibles- I adored them because they taught about the people, places and background information about the stories in the Bible. Granted it was flawed because it was Protestant, but my point is, I always wanted more information for better understanding of what I was reading in the Bible - reference Bibles gave that to me.

Now I'm thrilled to find a new Catholic "reference" Bible being published that seems to include all those things.

Ad quote from Ascension Press
Features
*A full-color Bible with a beautiful eye-catching design

*Each book of the Bible is color-coded with printed tabs, indicating where it belongs within The Bible Timeline.
*Twelve Timeline charts provide a visual overview of the Bible, including: important characters, Key Events, geography, major covenants, world rulers, and contemporary events in secular history.
*Twelve articles give a summary and explanation of each period of salvation history.
*Seven articles introduce and explain the major covenants of salvation history, showing God’s amazing plan for humanity.
*Seventy Key Event call-outs provide a brief description of the milestones in the biblical narrative.
*Includes sixteen newly designed full-color maps.
*The words of Jesus are printed in red.
*Revised Standard Version – Second Catholic Edition.

Facebook silences Catholic voices

It's really time Christians had an alternative to Facebook.

While Facebook continues to allow live streaming of sex acts, assaults, rape, child porn and murders on their media outlet, they are working hard to silence Catholics.

Over at ChurchPop today there are two articles on popular Catholic Facebook pages being shut down by the Zuckerberg zombies.

These are clearly widely popular Catholic Facebook pages with millions of Likes and followers.
ChurchPop quote“It is extremely heartbreaking,” Kenneth Alimba explained. “It’s too horrible.”
Alimba, a Catholic who lives in Nigeria, was the owner of the Facebook page titled “Catholic and Proud.” It had over 6 million Likes when it was removed by Facebook today without explanation. He had another page titled “Holy Mary Mother of God,” which had around 200,000 Likes and was also removed.
His pages are just two of possibly dozens of Catholic Facebook pages simultaneously removed around the world in the last day or so, including the “Father Rocky” page (3.3 million Likes) and a popular Portuguese-language Pope Francis page called “Papa Francisco Brasil” (3.8 million Likes).
“I’ve worked on the page for over five years,” he told ChurchPOP, “and have put in all I am into it.”
Godwin Delali Adadzie, the owner of another removed Catholic Facebook page “Jesus and Mary,” with 1.7 million Likes, also shared his story with ChurchPOP.
“This page is the joy of my apologetics ministry online. It is like the digital heartbeat of my ministry.”
Earlier a Catholic priest was suspended from his Facebook account for posting about the history of Islam. (We know how much the left hates true history)

Church Militant has an article about Facebook silencing conservatives who use Facebook to try to educate the public about the dangers of Islam terrorism and the push for sharia law in numerous countries around the globe.
CM quote: Facebook is continuing to censor Conservative websites critical of Islam.
Steve Amundson, founder of Counter Jihad Coalition, told Church Militant that Facebook has been locking him out of his page, Counter Jihad Coalition, since July 11.
Amundson uses his Facebook page and website CounterJihadcoalition.org to "educate people on political Islam, the threat of sharia and the violence that's in political Islam."
In another timely article on Church Militant's website, Christine Niles warns about the silencing of anyone the Zuckerberg zombies deem "racist" or "zenophobic".
CM quote: Shortly after, Facebook implemented its "Initiative for Civil Courage Online" to delete what it deemed "racist" or "xenophobic" comments. But Douglas Murray at the Gatestone Institute warned it was a tool for further censorship of legitimate conservative voices.
"The sinister thing about what Facebook is doing is that it is now removing speech that presumably almost everybody might consider racist," said Murray, "along with speech that only someone at Facebook decides is 'racist.'"
Church Militant's Michael Voris is clearly seeing the writing on the wall and is taking steps to protect his Catholic voice on the Internet by purchasing CM's own internal server so that it's material doesn't suddenly disappear at the whim of some leftist media platforms that could pull the plug on them at any moment like Facebook has done to so many Catholics.

What will become of my fellow Catholic bloggers and I if Blogger and WordPress etc, decide to silence us?

If anyone knows of a Catholic platform or has been toying with the idea of creating one such platform, now is the time my friends.

Can't say it better than Christopher Ferrara

I read a very good article today, by Christopher Ferrara over at Fatima Network.

Since I can't possibly say it any better than Mr. Ferrara, I will simply offer a quote (emphasis mine) and link to the full article.

quote: "It seems that Pope Francis is determined to be more and more provocative with each passing week, as if to reveal deeper and deeper layers of what appears to be a liberal, seventies-era Latin American Jesuit’s constitutional disdain for the supposed “rigidity” of orthodox Catholicism.
By now the whole world knows that on June 14, during his customary rambling remarks, this time at a “pastoral conference” at Saint John Lateran, Francis declared that “the great majority of our sacramental marriages are null” because the spouses “don’t know what they say” when they say “Yes, for life.” He also dropped the bomb that in his view couples in the countryside of northeast Argentina who cohabit out of the husband’s superstitious fear of marriage vows, avoiding Catholic nuptials until they are grandparents, have “a true marriage, they have the grace precisely of marriage, because of the fidelity they have.”
In other words, according to Francis, it is quite literally the case that among Catholics most marriages are not really marriages, whereas many non-marriages are.  With these remarks, Francis simultaneously undermines confidence in Holy Matrimony while legitimating unholy relationships which the Church, following Our Lord Himself, can only view as adultery or simple fornication. The Vatican’s frantic post-conference “correction” of the transcript of Francis’ remarks changes “great majority” to “a part,” but it leaves unchanged Francis’ mind-boggling and really quite nonsensical assertion that cohabiting couples afraid to marry can have a “true marriage.”
Changing the transcript of this particular outburst of heterodoxy does not change what Francis actually believes. For as he declared without correction in September 2015, during the flight back to Rome from the “beach party Mass” in Rio (citing his predecessor as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Cardinal Quarracino): “half of all marriages are null…. Why? Because they are married without maturity, they get married without realizing that it’s for an entire lifetime, or they are married because socially they must get married.”  That is what Francis really thinks." [end quote]

Please read the full article HERE.  Mr. Ferrara is spot on.

Catholic Bishop blames Catholic Faith for Orlando shooting

I can't believe I am even seeing this, let alone writing a post on it.

Florida Bishop Robert Lynch, wrote a blog post today entitled "Orlando, Orlando, we love you" and then he went on to say that the Catholic Faith is to blame for a radical Muslim terrorist killing 49 gays in a gay bar because Catholicism "targets" homosexuals.

quote:   "Second, sadly it is religion, including our own, which targets, mostly verbally, and also often breeds contempt for gays, lesbians and transgender people. Attacks today on LGBT men and women often plant the seed of contempt, then hatred, which can ultimately lead to violence. Those women and men who were mowed down early yesterday morning were all made in the image and likeness of God. We teach that. We should believe that. We must stand for that. Without yet knowing who perpetrated the PULSE mass murders, when I saw the Imam come forward at a press conference yesterday morning, I knew that somewhere in the story there would be a search to find religious roots. While deranged people do senseless things, all of us observe, judge and act from some kind of religious background. Singling out people for victimization because of their religion, their sexual orientation, their nationality must be offensive to God’s ears. It has to stop also." [end]
How does such a man become a Bishop?

The statements by the Church and the teachings on homosexuality in our catechism do NOT "target" homosexuals to be gunned down or hated.
