While I disagree with the title of the video, I figured I had a pretty good idea what the two and a half hour video would feature... mass abuse.
So I gave it a try.
I was right- but I was NOT prepared for what I saw. These images can only begin to relay what is going on...the music...the words said... its a horror show.
This needs to STOP!
The Clown Mass- complete with fuzzy ball tassel stole.
The Yoga Mass
The Hostage Mass (yes a woman is bound and gagged)
The Bobble Head Mass (complete with HUGE pita bread host)
The Circus Mass
This "procession" [next few images] is done to the Big Top Circus theme music
while a spinning carousal whips it's 3 riders around in circles.
The girl at the top is holding the Book of the Gospels.
See the swirling carousal riders wave to the laity
Woman holding the Book of the Gospels as she spins in circles
The Consecrated Red Guitar Mass
(Yes, that is a red electric guitar AND race flag on the altar during the Consecration)
Rock Star Priest SINGS a Rock Mass
(I am NOT kidding-watch the video)
The Flame Spewing Mass
The Sparkler Mass
The Hare Krishna Mass
(a Catholic Parish in Florida)
(a Catholic Parish in Florida)
The Dancing With the Stars Mass
The Shot Glass Jesus Mass
(yes, they are drinking the Blood of Christ from shot glasses)
These are only a FEW of the abuses shown in the video, there are bouncing balloon priests, what I think is someone dressed as a giant piece of toast processing to the altar, lots of dancing and twirling, a man dancing and flinging incense in the air, a woman re-writing a reading to suit her liberal feminist 'you're not gonna hold us women down!' speech and several consecrated hosts that look like GIANT pancakes being ripped to shreds then fed to the people.
After watching with disgust the entire two and half hours of one mass abuse after another the only thing I could think about was Jesus clearing out the Temple with a whip.
Had *I* been at ANY of these "masses" I think I would have done my own Jesus impression of clearing out the Temple- only I wouldn't have been as easy on them as Jesus was.
This sickens me. The ignorance not only of the laity- but the CLERGY! There is no excuse and while many will not like hearing me say this, I am saying it anyway. I believe there will be a special place in Hell for the clergy who mock our Lord in this way and take the holiness of the Mass away from the faithful. How could you? Do you not KNOW who you disrespect? I pray for your rotten souls, because they truly must be rotten to treat my Lord so shabbily when he's been tortured, beaten and died for YOU. This is how you repay Him? You should be on your knees begging His forgiveness for what you've done and those you've led astray! SHAME ON YOU!
May God have mercy on them.
One last thing...in Pope Francis Exhortation, he mentioned getting rid of some "customs" [#43] - can we hope that the "customs" seen here will be the first to go?
43. “In her ongoing discernment, the Church can also come to see that certain customs not directly connected to the heart of the Gospel, even some which have deep historical roots, are no longer properly understood and appreciated. Some of these customs may be beautiful, but they no longer serve as means of communicating the Gospel. We should not be afraid to re-examine them. At the same time, the Church has rules or precepts which may have been quite effective in their time, but no longer have the same usefulness for directing and shaping people’s lives. Saint Thomas Aquinas pointed out that the precepts which Christ and the apostles gave to the people of God “are very few”.[47] Citing Saint Augustine, he noted that the precepts subsequently enjoined by the Church should be insisted upon with moderation “so as not to burden the lives of the faithful” and make our religion a form of servitude, whereas “God’s mercy has willed that we should be free”.[48] This warning, issued many centuries ago, is most timely today. It ought to be one of the criteria to be taken into account in considering a the reform of the Church and her preaching which would enable it to reach everyone.”

Kyrie eleison....no wonder were not taken seriously by the orthodox
ReplyDeleteTo Joe Potillor: You're right and who can blame them? If I walked into a mass like any of these, I wouldn't take it seriously either and I would be writing to the Bishops, Cardinals and Pope the same day!
ReplyDeleteThis has to end.

I see we had an aerobics-class Mass as well. Who can dream up this crap?
ReplyDeleteTo Restore-DC-Catholicism: You're right and some line dancing and another 'rock concert mass' with strobe lights, fog machines and electric guitars---insane.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which of them was the most offensive!

I feel sick...
ReplyDeletePeople have been writing their Bishops, Rome, et. al. for years - it rarely does any good. You have to move on to a Traditional Catholic Parish.
ReplyDeleteThe Bobble Head mess was something performed by people outside of a Catholic church. I believe it was some ultra-left group of wanna be Catholics and a former priest gathering in some hotel conference room.
ReplyDeleteHello Nate,
ReplyDeleteI think the main issue isn't so much WHERE the mass takes place, but rather if it is a Mass or not. If that wasn't a real priest WONDERFUL! Then no real Mass took place- that would be a good thing.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing that.

Lord have mercy, I love the people at my parish, but on the Feast of Christ the King when everyone, including the priest processed in with glittery paper crowns on their heads, I almost screamed. I've wanted to go to TLM for awhile, and that Mass convinced me.
ReplyDeleteThis just hurts my heart
ReplyDeleteThe dancing with the stars mass was celebrated by a certain Cardinal Bergoglio

Dear Julie,
ReplyDeleteSeveral of these weren't at any kind of Mass, so there is definitely some misinformation being spread.
The priest performing the Indian dance was in a "missionary cultural center" during a course in Brazil. Obviously the place has some kind of chapel, but looking at the video, I don't see any indication that a Mass was in progress. Some people look at a scene in a church and jump to the conclusion that the Mass was being profaned. If I remember right, it was a dance made by Christians in India, who probably engage in traditional dance as much as anyone over there. But people see "India" and think it must be Hindu: wrong.
The "Circus Mass" with the carnival-type "floats" were at a novena service in Aparecida, not at a Mass. I'm told that the priests there are Redemptorists and they're into making these theatrical shows out of popular devotions.
As another commenter noted, the Bobble Head event was a dissenting group meeting at a conference center in California in 2008, not in a church. The celebrant was a retired bishop from Canada, the notorious Remi de Roo.
Obviously some of the scenes you've presented are during Masses, and they're bad. But one of the problems of the internet is that it tends to give exaggerated attention to bad events that are bizarre but really rare. Most of us seeing this web page have probably never witnessed such stupidities in person. I can only think of one case in my 34 years as a Catholic, and it's small stuff compared to these.
You could make a more realistic assessment and criticism of present-day liturgical practice based on what *you* personally have witnessed, or what happens in *your* diocese, not this exaggerated -- sometimes even falsified -- distillation of outrage stories.
God bless!
To RC: I clearly stated for people to watch the video for themselves. As for me, NONE of it is acceptable, NOT ONE. If you watch the video, you do see Masses being said with horrendous liturgical abuses- even ONE is ONE TOO many.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and sharing your opinions.

I would like to see some documentation about when and where these "Masses" took place. Heard (former) Fr. Corapi speak on this subject. Thought it was really an isolated incident.
ReplyDeleteI am worried that Pope Francis is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A progressive who uses his "humility" as a tool to gain worldwide acceptance and love, giving him a free pass to change the Church as he, not God, wishes.I see parallels to Obama and it scares me. I pray this will not happen. God will not allow His Church to disintegrate before His eyes.
ReplyDeletePicture number 13 - TANGO WHEN POPE FRANCIS (not at that time yet), but as BISHOP... is sitting there in the back and reside over THIS HOLY MASS!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a blasphemy to even dare calling these masses...It's an offense to God...a mockery.
ReplyDeleteWhen will people in these communities will ever wake up and realize that these so called ``priests`` are not true priests...and that these false liturgies are not valid liturgies...but absolutely nul...and invalid...It is not the Mystical Body founded by Christ...The sooner these people wake up and realize that they are in an heretical church and get out the sooner restoration will come...
