Florida Bishop Robert Lynch, wrote a blog post today entitled "Orlando, Orlando, we love you" and then he went on to say that the Catholic Faith is to blame for a radical Muslim terrorist killing 49 gays in a gay bar because Catholicism "targets" homosexuals.
quote: "Second, sadly it is religion, including our own, which targets, mostly verbally, and also often breeds contempt for gays, lesbians and transgender people. Attacks today on LGBT men and women often plant the seed of contempt, then hatred, which can ultimately lead to violence. Those women and men who were mowed down early yesterday morning were all made in the image and likeness of God. We teach that. We should believe that. We must stand for that. Without yet knowing who perpetrated the PULSE mass murders, when I saw the Imam come forward at a press conference yesterday morning, I knew that somewhere in the story there would be a search to find religious roots. While deranged people do senseless things, all of us observe, judge and act from some kind of religious background. Singling out people for victimization because of their religion, their sexual orientation, their nationality must be offensive to God’s ears. It has to stop also." [end]How does such a man become a Bishop?
The statements by the Church and the teachings on homosexuality in our catechism do NOT "target" homosexuals to be gunned down or hated.

Lynch is a sick man.
ReplyDelete"I fear only bad Catholics" -- Saint Bernadette Soubirous
ReplyDeleteI guess Omar Mateen was a devotee of all things Catholic? Bishops get away with saying, writing, preaching anything anti-Catholic. As former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards was famous for saying, "The only way I can lose is if I'm caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy." I doubt even a live boy would get a liberal bishop removed, today.

Mar 29, 2007 - Bishop Robert Lynch is in the news again. ... 14 of Randy Engel's book The Rite of Sodomy: Homosexuality and the Roman Catholic Church.
This can't be right. Archbishop Cupich (who the Bear believes outranks Bishop Lynch) told a Catholic homosexual group in a letter that it could have been because of "mental instability." Yes, that's exactly right. Cover for a Muslim terrorist by scapegoating a stigmatized group that does not enjoy cultural protection, without any evidence except the lay musings of an ex-wife.
ReplyDeleteSo which is it? Another bipolar thought his Cheerios tasted stale that morning and went out and shot up a nightclub, or Catholics? They need to coordinate through the USCCB and get their stories straight. Their credibility on this incident is beginning to show just a bit of strain.
But although the Bear wrote about Cupich's low blow, aren't these dog-bites-man stories, Julie? Now a bishop coming out and condemning Islamic terrorism would be a man-bites-dog story really worth our effort! Anybody?
Now the press has that Mateen may have been gay himself....as to Lynch, anyone who grew up in Tampa knew he was a sodomite.
ReplyDeleteAlthough ABS most certainly does not support the actions of The Mahometan Saint, he must be accorded due respect for he is a most faithful follower of Mahomet who taught:
ReplyDeleteThe Hadiths: “If you find anyone doing as Lot’s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.” (Abu Dawud 38:4447) And: “Stone the upper and the lower, stone them both.” (Ibn Majah 3:20:2562)
The Jihadist is a Mahometan Saint and ought be referenced that way.
He's bucking for a promotion.
ReplyDeleteThe 'credibility' of our Bishops is not only just 'strained' as 'The Bear' has suggested, but for a good number of the faithful their credibility is 'non existent', and has been for some time now. There are only a precious few who seem at all credible unfortunately as of late. They either speak as dissidents or they are silent in the face of heresy which is equally heretical.
ReplyDeleteahhhhhh, francis bishops....the gifts that just keep giving.
ReplyDeleteCupich was bad enough, but this guy is appalling.I hope Orlando Catholics tell him what he can do with his blog.
ReplyDeleteWhen I converted to the Catholic faith my priest warned me that it was going to be hard to be a Catholic.
ReplyDeleteOf course he was right.
The frothing theological and moral puke that dribbles out of the gaping gullets of many a Bishop is the reason.
