My Christmas wish...priests with brains
When Fr. James Martin retweets another priest you generally know what you're getting, but sometimes you still have a what-the-hell-is-that moment.
This is one of those moments.
The tweet is from Fr. Peter Wojcik who tweets a picture of the Holy Family as illegal immigrants, illegally entering a country. Fr. Wojcik then encourages illegals to continue to dream of illegally entering countries because, (get this)...Mary believed God was faithful to his promise.
What the hell does that mean? That God promises people who want to enter countries illegally that they will get there? Encouraging people to make the deadly trek across borders that is known to kill people?
Great message Fr. Wojcik, how many people will you have killed by encouraging this?
Talk about using Jesus for politics! This is disgraceful and potentially deadly!
Way to go Father.
In Christ and praying for priests with brains,

One more thing...
Guess who these two are...?
Can't tell by their clothes? Neither could I.
It's Father Wojcik and Sister Celine.
Christmas wish #2...bring back the cassocks and habits!

When the circus freak-show becomes our world reality
These are some humdingers in my opinion.
Let's start with the mess D.C. has just subjected our police officers to. I'm sure the police officers will love this one when debating whether or not to frisk a suspect.
Male police officer: I think they look like a female, you frisk them.
Female police officer: But it has a beard! You frisk them.
Male police officer: Calling all units, we need a gender fluid officer to frisk our I-don't-know-what-the-hell-I-am suspect!
Quote: (CNN)Nic Sakurai was among the first people outside the Benning Road Department of Motor Vehicle office in Washington on Tuesday morning at 7:15.
Sakurai had created a Facebook event and invited others to join the historic day: They would become the first people in the United States to choose X as their gender marker instead of male or female on driver's licenses and identification cards. The X signifies gender neutral, the preferred designation for people like Sakurai who don't identify as male or female. They may use different words to describe how they identify, such as gender nonconforming, gender fluid, gender nonbinary or agender, as Sakurai prefers. Whatever the case, "male" and "female" and "he" and "she" don't fit how they see themselves."I don't feel that sense of gender as something that is part of my core innate experience," said Sakurai, who uses the pronoun "they.""I'm glad to finally have an ID that actually matches who I am."
I love these liberal nut-jobs who deny DNA, tossing proven science out the window for "I don't feel that sense of gender as something that is part of my core innate experience."
What the hell is a "core innate experience" any way?
Just wait till a male police officer frisks a female who looks like a guy and has 'no gender marked on her license' and then see how fast the courts fill up with sexual assault charges and discrimination because our poor police officers can't tell who's what any more, even with an ID!
Our nation is full of mental midgets.

Let's not forget the Canadians...
Quote: "An eight-month old Canadian baby has been issued a health card without a gender marker, in what could be the first case in the world.Parent Kori Doty - a non-binary transgender person who identifies as neither male nor female - aims to allow the child to discover their own gender. The health card has been issued with a "U" in the space for "sex", which could be for "undetermined" or "unassigned".Kori Doty is fighting to omit the gender from the birth certificate. The parent gave birth to Searyl Atli in November at a friend's home in British Columbia. Kori Doty, who prefers to use the pronoun they, argues that a visual inspection at birth is unable to determine what gender that person will have or identify with later in life. They want to keep Searyl's sex off all official records."I'm raising Searyl in in such a way that until they have the sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell me who they are, I'm recognising them as a baby and trying to give them all the love and support to be the most whole person that they can be outside of the restrictions that come with the boy box and the girl box," the parent was quoted by CBC as saying." What month of June is complete without priests celebrating gay pride?
And of course, our infamous heretical priest...
What the hell is wrong with parents who twist the minds of their innocent children into a mass of chaotic confusion that will leave them with a lifetime need of therapy? In my opinion, this is all child abuse.
God help us and save the innocents!

Tridentine Mass vs Novus Ordo
This makes me angry and incredibly sad...
...I feel ripped off by the Church. We had such beauty, reverence, holiness of worship in the Tridentine Mass. We were fed the fullness of all Christ had given us in the Mass.
Now we are fed the crumbs from the floor.
We are starving, some of us so spiritually anorexic we are dying from it- walking into Hell and still the Church turns a blind eye to our hunger.
God have mercy on us!

Why is Ben Carson duping Catholic religious?
This is very disappointing to me.
Ben Carson appears to me to be deceiving these Catholic nuns (among other Catholic religious). He tweeted the following image:
Did Carson tell them he's not the pro-life man he's falsely pretended to be for months?
I saw the photo re-tweeted by a good holy priest today, of Ben Carson speaking to these clapping and smiling nuns.
This good priest was totally unaware that Ben Carson supports the abortion drug RU-486 and is only pro-life AFTER 6 weeks when a heartbeat can be detected.
Once I shared this video with the priest...he thanked me and expressed his shock and disappointment...
...as did numerous other pro-lifers on Twitter who were duped by Ben Carson.
If you know pro-life supporters who are supporting Ben Carson, PLEASE share this information. Show them the video. Don't let them be deceived by this man who falsely claims to be pro-life when he's not.

What the hell is going on in Catholic churches?
From World Cup soccer masses...
to Superbowl masses...
and now this... at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New Zealand...
Youtube Description:
Published on Jan 9, 2015 - Santo Niño devotees offer a liturgical dance to our Holy Infant during the first day novena held in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland, New Zealand. The Sinulog Dance is dance of worship offered by the Filipino people to our Holy Child Jesus Christ.
This is what Adoration looks like at the same Cathedral.
The above photo is from their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/stpatricksnz
Will Pope Francis do anything about this? How can the Church be a "hospital" to the hurting, if the clergy are nitwit clowns incapable of celebrating a Mass without liturgical abuse??
These obscene masses must end, they are abominations to our Lord! Are all these Catholics (including the clergy) idiots who have no idea what the Mass is or do they know and simply not care? Are these Catholic clergy PURPOSELY working to insult and profane the Lord and His Mass? Are they that evil? Or simply that stupid?
I pray they will one day soon have the faith and wisdom to know what they are doing is wrong, the fear of the Lord so they repent of what they've done, and the will to make reparations for it.
Until then, may God have mercy on them.
In Christ,
Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Parish life in 2014...dismal at best
I’m not a cradle Catholic.
I fell in love with the Catholic faith because of its immense
beauty. Beauty that I found in its Sacraments,
writings, architecture, stained glass windows, Gregorian chant, complete Sacred
Scripture, Sacred Tradition, Catholic hymns, incense, rites, ornate altars and
vestments, Holy Water/Oil, sacramentals, devotions, feast days and the order
and reverence of the Mass. All the big
and little things that set the Catholic faith apart from any other Christian
faith.
It was all the things that made the Catholic Church catholic
that drew me in. I wanted it. I wanted to BE a part of the only Church
Jesus Christ created on earth and I wanted all the things that made it
Catholic. Even before I was officially
Catholic I set about immersing myself in all things Catholic. I bought hundreds (literally) of Catholic
books. I bought Catholic statues, Holy
cards, incense, crucifixes, rosaries and candles. I transformed my home into a Catholic home
complete with a home altar and kneeler.
As a convert to the Faith, there was a great deal I was
ignorant about. I’m not talking about
the Dogma’s and doctrines- I studied those intently before becoming Catholic
and I know that is an ongoing education.
I am talking about being totally ignorant of parish life.
I thought, one Catholic parish was as good as another
because the readings would be the same, the Rubrics in place (I assumed all
priests naturally followed them), all Masses would be the same- that is what I
ignorantly thought.
In reading hundreds of books about the Catholic Faith, not
once did I read about Catholic parishes that didn’t seem Catholic. Not once.
When I joined RCIA back in 2006, I had already spent years
educating myself in the Catholic Faith.
I read the catechism, books on Saints, Papal encyclicals, Papal Bulls,
the Vatican II documents and anything else I could get my hands on. I talked to priests and nuns and other
converts and educated Catholics. I
contacted EWTN and they answered my questions in email and on television shows
like The Journey Home. I wanted to know
what the Church was all about BEFORE I joined RCIA.
Because I had educated myself, I knew right away there was something
very wrong with the RCIA program in my parish.
I should mention, that at the time my town had ONE Catholic parish- so I
didn’t have a variety to pick from and it probably wouldn’t have occurred to me
to “shop around” for a Catholic parish- I thought that was a protestant thing
and again, I believed all Catholic parishes were the same.
I joined the local Catholic parish for three reasons 1) I thought they were all the same, 2) I wanted a Catholic parish where my children would attend religious education with their school friends and 3) I wanted a close local parish where I could easily volunteer and participate in activities (I had always been active in my Baptist community and wanted to do the same as a Catholic).
Now, back to my RCIA experience. The RCIA at the time (it has now changed
DRAMATICALLY for the better with new leadership), had a “group team” of RCIA
teachers (about a dozen) who all taught RCIA together as a group effort. Not a single RCIA instructor in that group
had read the Bible or knew the Scriptures.
They even admitted that to me.
The
RCIA director told me I “scared the hell out of her” when I joined because I
could quote Scripture and knew where it was in the Bible without having to look
it up (something every Baptist child has instilled in them throughout their
childhood). During RCIA, when a question
came up about something in Scripture I had to find it for them and not one of
them could tell the Catholic interpretation of it. This was extremely disappointing to me
because I had/have a great love of the Scriptures. So from the beginning, Sacred Scriptures was
basically off the table for RCIA class.
But the worst was still to come.
Apparently, I knew more about the Catholic faith than any of the dozen
teachers I had. Each one of them
attempted to teach me that 1) women would one day become priests, 2) birth
control was a personal choice to be made with your own conscience and 3)
absolutely NO discussion on abortion, morning after pill (hot topic at the time
here in CT) or how a Catholic should vote politically on these issues was EVER
to be allowed in any RCIA discussion.
The liberal RCIA instructors would simply not allow the
Church’s official teaching on these things to be taught. I was only a few months into the RCIA program
when I had my first fight with all twelve RCIA instructors over women
priests. At first, they gave me that
sympathetic look that said “ignorant convert-to-be just doesn’t understand yet”. They even gave me a condescending smile that
said “just you wait; you’ll see women priests one day”. But God intervened in that class.
While I was sharing with them what the catechism said and
what Pope John Paul II had written on the subject, our parish priest walked
in. The RCIA director (sure she was
correct and I was wrong) waved Father over and said something like “Father, we’ve
had a discussion come up that we’d like you to clear up for us. We were discussing the possibility of women
one day becoming priests. I’m sure Julie
would like it if you could clear this up for her.” And she sat back fully expecting me to be put
in my place for daring to argue with the entire RCIA staff. I smiled to myself because I knew what was
coming. I knew this priest was an orthodox priest- I'd already had a LONG detailed meeting with him about the Faith. This priest was new to the parish, he had only been there a month before I walked in the door asking to become Catholic, so the RCIA team were not familiar with him yet.
Father said something along the lines of: “Women can never be Catholic priests; this is
not something that can change. The
Church does not have the authority to ever ordain a woman a priest. Jesus Christ created a priesthood of men…”
and he went on to talk about the typology of the Levitical priesthood, the
twelve Apostles and some quotes I can’t recall anymore.
That RCIA director was furious. I could nearly see steam coming off her
head. You see, she has a brother who is
a priest (liberal priest) who for decades taught her these errors and many others like consecrating Wonder Bread at family dinners to the delight of the RCIA director (this was the story she shared on the subject of the Eucharist- bread is bread). As soon as Father left the room, this [now retired] RCIA
director said “Father is just giving his opinion; women WILL one day be priests”. She refused to be corrected by anyone – even her
own priest. This woman was the RCIA
director in my parish for nearly thirty years teaching these liberal things to
everyone who walked through those parish doors.
So it’s no wonder my parish is as it is today. And that is what I want to talk about.
When my family and I began attending our parish, we
attended the Saturday Vigil Mass (this was familiar to me because as a child I
attended the Vigil Mass with my paternal Catholic grandparents at least
monthly even though I was raised Baptist). The Saturday Vigil Mass was
(to me) affectionately called the “old people’s Mass” because it was very
reverent, had organ music and we sang beautiful Catholic hymns.
The Sunday Mass’s had/have bongo drums, a Grand
piano, sometimes guitars etc, and never any organ music and rarely old Catholic
hymns. It’s more like a rock concert
complete with people swaying and tapping their feet in the pews.
I avoided the Sunday Mass the best I could for years.
Then a few years ago, my parish was “yoked”
to a parish in another town, and our beloved devout priests were moved to other parishes. Now we have one new priest for our two yoked parishes,
no Vigil Mass at my parish, no confession at my parish and he’s added “the
children’s liturgy” -where just before the readings he calls up all the
children ages 3 to 8 for a blessing then sends them down stairs for their own
liturgy. The kids climb over people
trying to get out of the pews, race up to the altar where they are blessed then
they race down stairs where they laugh, make loud music and talk loud enough
that those of us upstairs hear all they are doing down stairs. Then DURING the Consecration, while we are on
our knees looking at the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity being held up by the
priest, the children come racing back upstairs and begin climbing over kneeling
people trying to get to their parents while waving in the air the pictures they colored during their 'children's liturgy'.
Chaos.
The reverence is nearly non-existent now. The Holiness of the moment is broken as all
eyes stop looking at Jesus and turn to the children. The moment is lost. It’s all very disruptive, yet in our parish
bulletin I noticed this week it said the “children’s liturgy has been very
successful”. For the life of me, I can’t
imagine what anyone could find “successful” about that chaos and loss of
reverence. And I wonder WHO has
determined its success and what standards were used to come to that
conclusion?
But it’s not all the fault of the newly instituted “children’s
liturgy”. As I’ve mentioned above for
years now I have failed to find reverence at the Sunday Mass. The ushers talk before and during Mass-
during the Consecration and after Communion when people are kneeling and praying. They jingle the change in their pants
pockets, talk about sports and the weather all through Mass. They are clueless to what is going on at Mass
and they don’t seem to care at all if they bother the people trying to worship
at Mass. If you look at them [the
ushers] and catch their eye to say “hey, I’m praying here” they look at you
WHILE they continue talking. No
reverence, no respect and no basic common courtesy for others. They’re a void.
My parish is small.
We have small stained glass window inserts in large clear windows. My parish is made of concrete blocks painted
off white. There are some statues and a
few paintings a parishioner painted years ago that hang on the wall. The altar is wood- the original marble altar
lost years ago during renovations (no one can answer how the altar was “lost”
or where the relic that was inside it went).
We have no relic in our altar now.
The Tabernacle is simple and plain- I hardly think it does justice to
the One it contains.
There isn’t much in my parish that says “This IS a Catholic
parish”. As a matter of fact, it could easily
be mistaken for any number of non-Catholic communities if it weren’t for the
Sacraments themselves. Just looking at or
seeing the Mass said in this parish, has nothing to distinguish it from so many
others- not with the bongo drums, folk music, “children’s liturgy” and complete
lack of reverence for the Eucharist. The
“catholic” in this Catholic parish is sadly lacking.
You might wonder why I don’t leave.
That’s a good question and one I’ve asked myself nearly
every week in 2014.
Why do I stay?
The Sacraments are valid.
It’s local.
It’s where my children were Baptized and Confirmed and where
we all entered the Catholic Church together.
We’ve got history here and good memories and people we love attend here.
I teach RCIA and some years CCD in this parish. The new RCIA director who knows I’ve been
considering leaving has asked me to stay and continue teaching RCIA because I
am the only other instructor she has.
And because of my own personal history in RCIA, I feel compelled to teach,
to make sure NO ONE else is taught the errors that for years had previously
been taught at this parish by other [now gone] RCIA instructors. If I stay, maybe I can make a
difference.
I’ve taught 7th grade CCD for a few years and
those children and sadly their parents knew almost NOTHING of their Faith. They didn’t know how many Sacraments the
Church has or what they are. They
honestly thought the ONLY time a person should or needs to go to Confession is
during Lent. They believed you just
saved up all your sins till Lent to confess them. They didn’t know what Purgatory was and most
of them couldn’t name a single Saint besides the Virgin Mary and the Apostles. Most couldn’t remember basic Catholic
prayers- hadn’t even heard of the Hail Holy Queen and didn't pray daily. These were children who had been going to CCD
for YEARS and would soon be preparing for Confirmation and they were clueless
because no one had properly taught them their Catholic Faith. I remember my youngest daughter in CCD class
playing HANGMAN on the chalkboard for class- they had to use Catholic words
like “Sacrament” or “Holy Eucharist”, but it was still hangman. THAT is how the children were taught their
Catholic faith the year of their First Holy Communion- is it any wonder this
parish is falling apart?
So do I leave and parish hop till I find (IF I can find) a
parish that has more reverence or do I stay and attempt to make a difference?
My personality (if you haven’t noticed from reading my blog)
is I am a fighter. Years ago, before I
created this blog, I was defending and fighting for the Faith on other Christian
and Catholic forums. On one of them, I
was dubbed the dreaded “Catholic Pitbull” because I wouldn't back down or give up defending my Catholic beliefs and the name stuck for years. I don’t like backing off a fight – especially
when it’s over my Catholic Faith. I can’t honestly remember the last time I “gave up” and moved on from something important. I’m just not wired that way. And I actually LIKE to fight. Some people hate it, I like it. I’m not talking about fighting with family or
co-workers, I mean fighting for or about my Catholic faith to defend it and my beliefs. I like confronting error and I’ve got no
problem telling someone “You’re wrong and here’s why…”
I have a huge problem knowing someone is wrong about the
Faith and not doing or saying something about it – like my old RCIA director
attempting to teach me and everyone else in that RCIA classroom years ago her liberal
views. I didn’t care that I was a
Baptist on the way to becoming Catholic and she was a cradle Catholic who had
been teaching RCIA for decades. She was
wrong and I wasn’t going to shut up about it even though I “caused a scene”
during class because I wouldn’t accept what she and the other instructors were
teaching us. I don’t think it’s in me to
EVER walk away from that sort of situation.
I can’t change the priest and his love of folk music, bongo
drums, children’s liturgies, telling jokes at Mass and giving homilies while
walking among the pews like a televangelist on TV. He’s a different breed of priest – and I don’t
like it one bit. My heart aches for an
orthodox priest who will TEACH the people to BE Catholic and to embrace our
Catholic Faith rather than trying to make it more protestant like.
What I can do is pray for my priest and parish to change.
I
can stay and share the Catholic Faith as I KNOW it to be. The beauty of the Faith- of all of it; the
parts that have been lost in my parish that the parishioners don’t even know
they are missing. I know and it bugs the
heck out of me each and every time I attend Mass in my own parish. We are being ripped off. There is so much more God and His Holy
Catholic Church have for us and these liberal priests are robbing us of
it. It infuriates me.
So do I leave or do I stay and fight?
For now… I stay and fight - but I honestly don't know how long I will last if things don't improve.
I don’t know what 2015 will bring, but I am praying,
sacrificing and offering Masses for a change in my parish. It’s time the Catholic laity take back their Faith
and DEMAND our clergy stop denying us the fullness of our Faith and the beauty of our Faith.
In my personal experience and opinion, 2014 has been a
TERRIBLE year in my parish, but I am hopeful that 2015 will bring answered
prayers from God and amazing changes in my parish and our priest. I hope good things will happen in your parishes
too.
May God bless us all in 2015.
In Christ,
Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Fr. Longenecker's Church of Nasty vs Church of Nice (UPDATED)
Recently Fr. Longenecker closed the comment box on his Patheos blog so people are no longer given the opportunity to reply to anything he says- at least not publicly. Personally I hate that, so I have stopped going to his Patheos website- until today when I saw by way of another Catholic outlet his opinion on what he terms “Church of Nasty”.
That reads "Nasty Catholics" vs. "Nice Catholics" to my mind because the "Nice Catholics" belong to the "Church of Nice" where they treat everyone so 'nicely'. On the other hand, he's got the "Nasty Catholics" belonging to the "Church of Nasty". These Catholics are described like rabid dogs on his Patheo's blog 'Standing on my head'.
Because there was no option to leave a comment there, I decided to write a much longer one here on my own personal thoughts of Father Longenecker's "Church of Nasty" view. Since Father gave no links to whom he was specifically thinking of when he wrote his blog post, I can only assume based on what I myself have seen around the web- and nothing I have seen comes close to Father's depiction. Sure, there are lots of disappointed, hurt, angry, confused, fired up Catholics out there filling the blogosphere with their thoughts and opinions but there isn't a single blogger out there that I know of which I would slap that "Nasty Catholic" label on- not one.
So not surprisingly, I see things a bit differently than Father and I mean this with no disrespect. Just my opinion, on his opinion.
Quote:
[Longenecker quote] If not the Church of Nice do we need to be the Church of Nasty? In the Catholic blogosphere and Catholic Church generally I increasingly whiff a very bad smell. It’s what I call the Church of Nasty.Trying to avoid the insipid, spineless and lily livered “Church of Nice” too many Catholic are falling into the other trap of becoming the Church of Nasty. It may be someone sending intentionally misleading headlines to a news aggregator to smear another Catholic, or it might be some guy who’s set up a super nasty website full of horrible attacks on others. It might be a radical traditionalist hell bent on attacking all the modernists and compromisers or it might be a radical progressive intent on attacking all his horrible right wing enemies. It might be some Catholic who has his knives out for Muslims, Jews and Protestants. It might be someone attacking homosexuals, sinners, modernists or feminists. It could be a progressive launching endless attacks on traditionalists, conservatives and Republicans.Sometimes it gets so bad that it feels like, “If you don’t hate the people I hate the same way I hate them, then I hate you too!”Wherever it is coming from and wherever it is going they’re intent on being the Church of Nasty, and let me tell you it can get real ugly.I’d link to some of the poisonous websites out there, but I do not want to send them traffic or soil the unblemished minds and hearts of my dear readers…. [end quote]
Again, since Father gives no links to who or what he is referring, we
are left to assume all sorts of horrid things about Catholics who are sick and
tired of modernist Catholics in the Church who corrupt the teachings and bark “Who are you to judge” at you if you DARE to oppose gay rights.
Now I can see in Father's quote that he places "radical traditionalists" beside "progressives" and Catholics attacking non-Catholics beside a guy's "super nasty website". But lets get to the heart of this. The "Church of Nice" are those who won't speak up against anything, while the "Church of Nasty" (as he refers to them) are those who won't be silent.
That is what it boils down to. This (my post specifically) isn't about progressives vs. traditionalists. It's about those who speak up and those who keep silent about ERROR among the Faithful.
"To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth, is the part of a man either devoid of character or who entertains doubt as to the truth of what he professes to believe. In both cases such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God, and both are incompatible with the salvation of mankind."
--Pope Leo XIII, Sapientiae Christianae
What Father neglects to mention is that those opposed to the
Church of Nice didn’t start this "battle" (if you will), but they do intend to finish it because keeping silent is not an option.
They are NOT the “Church of Nasty”, they are THE
CHURCH.
The AUTHENTIC Church- the people
who believe ALL the Church teaches. They don’t want to change the Church, they LOVE HER JUST AS SHE IS. They despise the deceit of those who seek to ruin Her, to
change Her, to mar Her magnificence with their heresies and deceit. They won’t stop opposing heresy, sin or deceit. And they won't be bullied into shutting up and playing "nice" when what they love is so brutally attacked. And they won't stand by in silence while souls are being lost to heresies and scandal.
These Authentic Catholics simply won’t tolerate people twisting the word “charity”
to fulfill their own purpose either. These Catholics have had enough of the Church of Nice.
Father
Longenecker says…
[quote] Therefore, there must be a way between the insipid Church of Nice and the snarling Church of Nasty. To stop and think it through, and give everyone the benefit of the doubt there are two different virtues vying for predominance: the virtue of charity and the virtue of truth. The Church of Nice too often sacrifice truth on the altar of charity and the Church of Nasty too often sacrifice charity on the altar of Truth. There must be a way to be both truth and charitable–both Nasty and Nice. [end quote]
You don’t understand “charity” any better than the Church of
Nice does Father.
It is NOT charitable
to ignore sin or the sinner. It is not
charitable to standby biting your tongue so you don’t hurt someone’s
feelings when their salvation is in jeopardy.
It is not charitable to DO
NOTHING when you see people working to destroy what you hold dear. It is not charitable to ALLOW modernism to
spread in the Church and do nothing.
Charity is love. Love
is wanting the sinner to repent so he/she can have eternal salvation. THAT is what charity is. When progressives WORK to destroy the Faith and the "Church of Nice" remain silent so as not to cause offense that is not charity.
The Church of Nice crowd by their silence actually embraces
liberalism and modernism not only in the world, but in the Church. These people are the lukewarm who will be
vomited out of God’s mouth for refusing to do anything.
Revelation 3 - 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold, nor hot. I would thou wert cold, or hot. 16But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.
The progressive Catholics WORK to bring about
legalized abominations: abortion, gay ‘marriage’, artificial birth control,
embryonic research etc, while the Church of Nice crowd smile at them and wave
at them marching with their gay pride banners.
The Church of Nice crowd wouldn’t dare tell
someone their sin might lead them to hell because it might offend them, so
instead they smile and keep silent as they watch souls going to Hell.
This is NOT charity, it is hatred, selfishness and cowardice.
Authentic Catholics WORK to stop modernism and heresy. Authentic Catholics aren't afraid to risk themselves for the sake of another- even if it comes with a cost.
If Uncle Bobo and his partner invite you to their 'wedding' it is NOT charity to accept and bring them a gift.
The most charitable thing you can do is sit down with them (or write to them if they won't meet with you) and tell them WHY you can't support them and why their relationship is a sin.
That is truly loving them and wanting the best for them.
Buying them a gift and attending their "wedding" because they are "nice guys" and you don't want to "offend" them is NOT an act of charity.
You have an opportunity to HELP someone avoid MORTAL sin...you WILL be held accountable for how you respond to that opportunity.
Charity is loving others enough to RISK being hated,
rejected and mocked because you hold another person's salvation MORE VALUABLE
than your self pride or ego. You are willing to be mocked, humiliated and hated if it helps even ONE soul turn from sin and return to God.
All the evils of the world are due to lukewarm Catholics.
-Pope St. Pius V
The Church of Nice crowd will never risk themselves for
another. They are too selfish and
comfortable to do what Jesus commanded.
Picking up our crosses and following Jesus is NOT easy, and often it is
NOT comfortable. It was not supposed to
be.
When Catholics stand by and say NOTHING when Cardinals lead
parades with gay banners declaring the right to gay ‘marriage’ that is NOT
charity.
When Catholics stand by and do
NOTHING when priests march for women priests it is NOT charity.
When Catholics stand by allowing ‘Catholic’
politicians to support abortion, birth control, gay ‘marriage’ and adoption it
is NOT charity.
When Catholics stand by
and do NOTHING when Catholic clergy cause scandal it is NOT charity.
All the strength of Satan’s reign is due to the easy-going weakness of Catholics.
-Pope St. Pius X
He that sees another in error, and endeavors not to correct it, testifies himself to be in error.
-Pope Leo I
Not to oppose error, is to approve it, and not to defend truth is to suppress it, and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage them.
-Pope Felix III
Catechism #826 Charity is the soul of the holiness to which all are called: it "governs, shapes, and perfects all the means of sanctification." 297If the Church was a body composed of different members, it couldn't lack the noblest of all; it must have a Heart, and a Heart BURNING WITH LOVE. And I realized that this love alone was the true motive force which enabled the other members of the Church to act; if it ceased to function, the Apostles would forget to preach the gospel, the Martyrs would refuse to shed their blood. LOVE, IN FACT, IS THE VOCATION WHICH INCLUDES ALL OTHERS; IT'S A UNIVERSE OF ITS OWN, COMPRISING ALL TIME AND SPACE - IT'S ETERNAL! 298
Hmmm...now WHO does that sound like?? Oh yeah, the Church of Nice!
It is not the “Church of Nice” who reminds Catholics they
need to attend weekly Mass. When Catholics
no longer believe the Eucharist is what
the Church says it is, it is not the Church of Nice who correct them. Oh no, that might hurt their feelings.
It is not the “Church of Nice” crowd who encourages Catholics to
go to Confession when they learn a brother or sister has fallen to mortal sin. Oh no, that might upset them and “who are we
to judge” them anyway? If they don’t
believe in sin or the need to confess because they think God is sooo nice that
He won’t allow THEM to go to Hell- the Church of Nice crowd won’t correct that
thinking. Oh no, Hell is for the Hitler’s
of the world, not Catholics who love each other.
What unity do Authentic Catholics (those who believe ALL the
Church teaches) have with the “Church of Nice” crowd who support (by their silence and smiles) unrepented sin and modernism in the Church?
The Church of Nice crowd don’t understand charity because
they have interpreted the word to be an inactive term. Charity is something we
DO. It is action, not in-action. The Church of Nice crowd are in-active pew
warmers.
Catholic Catechism #1792 Ignorance of Christ and his Gospel, bad example given by others, enslavement to one's passions, assertion of a mistaken notion of autonomy of conscience, rejection of the Church's authority and her teaching, lack of conversion and of charity: these can be at the source of errors of judgment in moral conduct.
Do Authentic Catholics get angry when they see Cardinal’s leading parades with gay pride banners?
You bet.
Do Authentic Catholics get angry when they see Catholic priests attending gay pride parades causing scandal to the faithful? You bet.
Do Authentic Catholics get angry when they see Catholic
Bishops more concerned with political issues like immigration reform than
teaching the Faith? You bet.
Do Authentic Catholics get angry when they see "Catholic" politicians supporting artificial birth control, abortion and gay marriage while their priests and Bishops turn a blind eye? You bet!
Do Authentic Catholics get angry when they see authentic parishes being closed down in favor of liberal dying parishes? You bet.
You can call these Catholics “Church of Nasty” if you want
to Father Longenecker, but I will call them AUTHENTIC CATHOLICS and God will never vomit them out of His mouth for being lukewarm Church of Nice pew warmers.
"If I have against me all the Bishops,
I have with me all the Saints and Doctors of the Church"
-St. Thomas Aquinas

****Since Father Longenecker’s comment box is closed feel free
to use my comment box to share your thoughts on Father’s article or my own. I’d like to hear from both the “Church of Nice”
and the “Church of Nasty”(or as I like to call you, Authentic Catholics) crowds.

Father Longenecker and I have been going back and forth in emails over this post I wrote. In his first email he indicates I was "biased", "unfair" and had gotten worked up into a "lather un-necessarily".
Why did he feel this way? Because I didn't quote this particular part of his blog post (I reminded Father I linked to his blog so that people could read it in its entirety).
Quote: Some Catholics talk disparagingly of the “Church of Nice”They are referring to the modernist church where indifferentism, complacency and tolerance replace the truly Christian virtues. They object not to niceness, but to a church that is nothing but nice.I’m with them. I can’t stand watered down religion. Modernist Christianity has eviscerated the gospel, removed the supernatural, “de mythologized” the message and turned Catholicism into nothing more than a do gooder religion for the country club set.As one commentator has observed, “This ain’t a religion. It’s a set of table manners.”I have written on this blog constantly of the danger to real Catholicism of removing the miraculous and robbing the church of the one power she has: the supernatural power of the sacraments, the fullness of the magisterium, the power of the Holy Spirit and the fullness of truth in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. When Some Catholics sneer at the “Church of Nice” I’m sympathetic.Let’s not tame the lion or water down the wine. Let’s hold to a full blooded, rip snortin’, Rooster Cogburn Catholicism.
I'd also like to add that Father gave me the link to the "Church of Nasty" website that influenced his blog post. Personally, I don't even think it is Catholic- and I told him so- seems more anti-Catholic but I will let you all decide.
I will share the offending link with my readers so you can decide for yourselves.
Be warned it is hateful and trashes the Holy Catholic Church.
Here is the link Father Longenecker gave me in email: HERE
Note this hate filled blog has no comments and I can see no followers so I don't think its having much of an impression on anyone.
Father and I were respectful of each other even though we saw this situation very differently. We had (in my opinion) a good conversation about all of this and I am happy he decided to write to me to share his thoughts on what I wrote.
OK, that's it. Just wanted to update this story.
God bless!
