EWTN To Air Pope’s Sept. 21 Visit to Albania
Irondale, AL – Pope Francis will make a one-day trip to
Albania, a country of almost 2.9 million people in southeastern Europe, on
September 21. Count on EWTN to air all the events made available to air during
his brief visit.
Our Holy Father’s schedule calls for a
courtesy visit with the Prime Minister, and an address to representatives of
local civil authorities. The Pope will then offer Mass in Mother Teresa Square
(Airs live at 5 a.m. ET, Sunday, Sept. 21 on EWTN television and at 5 p.m. ET on
EWTN Global Catholic Radio), followed by the Angelus, and lunch with the bishops
of Albania at the Apostolic Nunciature.
In the afternoon, Pope Francis will meet with leaders of other religions
and other Christian denominations (Airs live at 10 a.m. ET, Sunday, Sept. 21 on
EWTN). In the evening, he will celebrate Vespers
with priests, religious brothers and sisters, seminarians, and member of
different lay movements. Afterwards, he will meet with children from “Bethany
Center,” where the Catholic Church assists needy children, as well as
representatives from other charitable institutions, before flying
home.
