EWTN Press Release: The Magnificat Day

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – The EWTN Global Catholic Network is proud to partner with Magnificat and the Diocese of Memphis to bring you “The Magnificat Day,” a celebration of prayer, faith and beauty, on Saturday, Nov. 1  live from the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, Tenn.

The event, hosted by EWTN President & COO Doug Keck and Fr. Joseph Mary Wolfe, will include talks by Fr. Robert Barron of the famed “Catholicism” series and Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P., Magnificat Editor-in-Chief as well as special interviews throughout the day!

EWTN’s coverage begins at 9 a.m. ET and ends at 8 p.m. ET following a “Magnificat” adaptation of Evening Prayer, and a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Memphis.

Once again, Magnificat Foundation has been entrusted with the relics of St. Therese of Lisieux and her parents, Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin, and these relics will be available for veneration at the venue.

“EWTN’s airing of ‘Magnificat Day’ last year in Philadelphia went over so well that we decided to travel to Memphis for this year’s celebration,” Keck said. “We’ll be there for Morning and Evening Prayer; for the Mass for the Solemnity of All Saints, which will be celebrated by Bishop (J. Terry) Steib (S.V.D. of Memphis); for speeches by Father Cameron and Father Barron; and for the Eucharistic Procession. We’re also told that viewers can expect to hear some great classical music.”
