Accepting the sins of the sinner

Over at the deceptively entitled “National Catholic Reporter” another garbage filled article has been posted about a Catholic *cough* parish that is likely “the gayest Catholic parish in the nation” because 80% of its parishioners are LGBT people.   

Fr. Jack McClure takes the Nativity story of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter to give birth to Jesus and compares it with homosexuals and transvestites being “accepted” (you’ll see that word over and over again) by Catholic parishes with a “no questions asked” policy. In other words, the homosexual relationships are a don’t ask, don’t tell policy in this *Catholic* parish.  

No need to repent.  No need to confess that mortal sin.  This parish and its priests either don’t believe homosexual acts are indeed sin so they don’t preach the need to repent and turn from that sin OR they wish to change Church teaching on the sin of homosexual acts thus having nothing to repent of.  Personally, from reading this nonsense I believe it’s a bit of both.

Notice how often this priest talks about “accepting” the sinners with their sins and not a peep about repenting or the warning that to die in mortal sin means eternal damnation?

Not a peep.  You'd think (hope and pray) that a priest would be most concerned with saving souls, but not this priest and not this parish.

Let's just be “accepting” and “welcoming”.

I’m sure the devil is accepting and welcoming of these sinners too. 

While Jesus wants the sinner to repent and turn from sin, Satan wants the sinner to stay in his/her sin.

Christ's holy priests tell people to confess their sins and repent.  Satan's unholy priests tell the people they are welcome and accepted in their sin.

Now the article goes on, to of course end with the now infamous destructive words of our dear off the cuff, make a mess Pope Francis…

Ahh yes…and there it is again… the “who am I to judge?” get-out-of-jail for free card used by homosexuals and liberals the world over.  That card apparently works with Pope Francis, but I seriously doubt it will work with Almighty God on Judgement Day.

Modern Liberal Mass or typical African American Catholic Mass?

Back in the 1990's while I was still a Baptist, I bought my house in a town that had no Baptist church.  My family Baptist church was several towns away and I wanted something more local, so I visited the two closest Baptist churches I could find at the time.  The first was a Southern Baptist church.

This church had exactly 7 members.  Yes, that is seven, not including the children.  These 7 members were from (if I recall correctly) three families.  The entire church was three families and had a very cult like feeling.  One Sunday was enough for me to not go back there. 

The second Baptist church I found was an African American Baptist church.  I'm not African American, but that didn't bother me and it didn't seem to bother anyone at that congregation either.  I was the only white person there aside from the woman who played the piano for them.  I liked these people and they seemed to like me, I was invited to join several bible groups and I did.  I enjoyed most of my time at this church.  They were friendly people, welcoming, loved the Lord and wanted to spend hours and hours at their church on Sunday.  Services were hours long with a break, then you were invited to come back after lunch and again after dinner for more services.  At the time I really liked that- I wanted to spend hours at church on Sunday with people who really loved the Lord and wanted to study the scriptures like I did.  What I didn't like, was the shouting, hand waving, dancing and "whoopin' & hollerin" DURING the service.  I was told this was a "cultural thing" among African Americans and I'd get used to it as it was part of how they worshiped.  OK, I didn't particularly like it when people yelled out "Thank you Jesus!" in the middle of a reading or prayer, but if that was their thing I was willing to try and adapt.  But what I couldn't adapt to and was most disturbing to me was the running around, talking in tongues and "fainting" while the minister preached.  It was not at all like the more conservative white Baptist church I had grown up in.  That was the part that finally had me moving on. 

Why am I bringing up my history and experiences with African American worship?  

Well, today I stumbled upon a Youtube video of a Roman Catholic Mass (Holy Angels Catholic Church Mass, Chicago, Illinois, 1-11-2015) and I wondered what their Mass would be like compared to what I had experienced myself in a Protestant African American congregation.  

Would African American "culture" show up in a Roman Catholic Mass?

The answer I discovered was 'oh yes... and more'...

And here are some parts that struck me...not really in good ways.

There is a LOT of clapping going on.  This was typical in the African American Baptist church too.

They sang the "Amen" just like in "Lilies of the Field"...

While "Hallelujah" is being sung the priest and his deacon hand out bottles of blessed Holy Water...

The priest goes into the pews and everyone holds hands for the "Our Father"...

There was singing at the pulpit (I've never seen this in any parish or congregation anywhere)...

The priest again goes into the pews for the Sign of Peace- which here in this parish means all around hugs for everyone!!

Everyone is leaving their pews and wandering around to hug other people...

Holy Communion nightmare...

After Holy Communion when we should be praying in silence a sort of Gospel concert takes place with dancing, hand clapping and waving hands in the air while the priest and deacon clear the altar.  There is ZERO reverence or silence and absolutely NO quiet time to reflect on the Eucharist they have just consumed.

Remember these people have JUST had Holy Communion a second before this occurs...

Once the altar is cleared its Happy Birthday time at this Catholic parish.  The priest asks anyone who is celebrating a birthday to come up front for a blessing and birthday cards...

After the birthday blessings the priest also called up a couple celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary and the entire process repeated, complete with cards.

I've never seen a Mass like this... I don't know if its typical in other parishes (African American or otherwise) but little of it seemed Catholic to me.

I was saddened to see that (to me) a peoples "culture" took precedence over their Catholic Faith.

My question is...was this just another example of the "modern" liberal Church in action at Mass or is this typical of all African American Catholic parishes?

I'd love to hear from others who have personal experiences with such parishes.

When will the Vatican end Catholic parishes in gay pride parades?

St. Joseph’s Parish in Seattle, Washington is again promoting and participating in the Seattle Gay Pride Parade.

I am HIGHLY offended they claim the reason for marching in a "gay pride" parade is because they "as a community [have been] ignited by the Eucharist".  Jesus Christ, Body, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist does NOT 'ignite' people into heretical beliefs or to support perversion. I am revolted by such a statement about my Lord in the Eucharist.

A “place to nourish their souls” eh?  

The ONLY way to “nourish your soul” when it is in sin is to REPENT of sin (in Confession) and avoid the things that lead you back into sin. Marching in 'gay pride' parades is NOT avoiding sin.  

If your Catholic parish is advertising joining gay parades it is NOT NOURISHING YOUR SOUL!  It is leading you to HELL! Do not allow you or your family to be led into sin by your own Catholic priest or parish!! 

There is no mention of Courage, the approved ‘welcoming place’ for LGBT Catholics on St. Joseph's parish website.  Why not?  Because Courage actually tells LGBT Catholics they must be celibate and live chaste lives.  This is NOT what St. Joseph’s parish in Seattle tells its members nor the entire community watching their actions as they pride-fully march in gay parades while their priest, Fr. John Whitney stands in the sidelines snapping photo after photo of the debauchery marching in front of him (more on that below).

What message exactly does that send to the world?  Does this parish send the message that LGBT people must be chaste and live celibate lives like the Church teaches?

Homosexual persons are called to chastity.  By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection (CCC 2359).

Do the parishioners in the St. Joseph's parish photos look like they believe what the Church teaches about homosexuality?  Is that the message you get from seeing these images on this CATHOLIC PARISH website?

What about the images NOT shown on the parish website?  What did the rest of the gay pride parade look like?  What did the parishioners witness, support and participate in?

Here is what St. Joseph’s parish supports and participates in…tell me if you see authentic Catholic teaching in any of these Seattle Pride Parade images (pay close attention to who is in the last photo).

And here is Fr. Whitney at the 2013 Seattle Gay Pride Parade shouting and waving and snapping photos of the perversions we see in the above images.  Apparently Father likes what he sees and wants to keep the images to fondly look back on for years to come.  Why else take photos?

The local media (Seattlepi.com) took note of the heretical priest the year before for his defiance against the Church and wrote an article naming Fr. Whitney one of “Seattle’s most intriguing people of 2012”:

Fr. John Whitney, S.J.: The pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Capitol Hill, made national headlines in the fall campaign by suggesting that there's a higher authority than church hierarchy. After Archbishop J. Peter Sartain delivered a broadside against same-sex marriage, Whitney issued an "e-blast" saying that Sartain's words should be respectfully considered, but in light of the "call to conscience" and "authority never supplants conscience." Whitney, a Jesuit, led discussions about this at St. Joe's, and supported America's embattled nuns: Sartain leads a team of three bishops charged by the Vatican with making the sisters toe the line. A big "Support the Sisters" march was organized in a meeting room at the Capitol Hill church.

Fr. Whitney has time and again REFUSED to listen to Archbishop Sartain. 

Why hasn't he been FORMALLY disciplined?

Why has he been allowed to continue to support perversion? 

A priest who defies his Bishop, the Vatican and teaches heresy should NOT BE A PRIEST!

WHY hasn't he been removed??  

What is the Vatican waiting for?  

More heresies to be taught to the laity?  

More souls to be lost?

A good Catholic (by that I mean one who isn't a heretic and actually believes all the Church teaches) has to ask…does anyone in the Church even know what SCANDAL means any more?

• Scandal—Scandal is an attitude or behavior that leads another to do evil. If someone is deliberately lead into a grave offense, that person’s tempter commits a grave sin (CCC 2284 and 2285). Jesus said, "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believes in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6). 

 

While the Archdiocese website (under the Courage/EnCourage LBGT page) clearly states...

“Courage is a spiritual support group for men and women who struggle with homosexual feelings. Members embrace the lasting freedom and joy – but also the cross – of chastity, in accordance with the Catholic Church’s teaching on sexuality.”

 ...it does not seem to enforce what it preaches. The Archdioceses says one thing, while its parishes do another.  Just who is in charge of protecting and promoting the Faith to the people?

So far Archbishop J. Peter Sartain has done nothing to end St. Joseph’s parish from supporting and marching in gay pride parades year after year. 

Another example of complete and utter FAILURE by Catholic hierarchy. Come on, get your act together!  The Church has been around for more than two thousand years now and STILL we can't seem to get the Church to discipline one of Her priests!

Does anyone at the Vatican care that priests and Bishops and Archbishops are LEADING people to hell by their own actions or (and in the case of Archbishop Sartain) in-actions?

What has to happen for the Church to put an END to this?  What will it take?  People are going to HELL and it looks like most of the Catholic Church simply doesn’t give a damn (literally).

Where are the Godly men who are willing to FIGHT this evil?  Are there any left within the Church?

Does Pope Francis care?  If he does nothing he is either ignorant of the problem or does not care that souls are going to Hell under his watch.

He recently said “anyone in the mafia is excommunicated” – how about telling the clergy “any clergy supporting or participating in gay pride parades are heretics to the Faith and are stripped of their pastoral positions”?  And then removing them from parishes AND forbidding them to speak publicly about it as to STOP the scandal and damage these men are creating.

Enough is enough.  The Church needs to CLEAN HOUSE.  

  

Pope Francis focuses on the money issues while souls are being lost.  Get your priorities straight Holy Father, people are losing their souls because of the damage Catholic clergy are inflicting on the world with their heretical teachings.

Remove ALL the heretical priests from the Church- everyone one of them from the top down.

We might have to be a very small Church, but at least we would be a Catholic Church teaching the PURE Catholic Faith to the people.

Pope Francis the Hippie Pope?

Elizabeth Scalia over at Patheos’ The Anchoress recently wrote a post “If we ‘get’ Francis, we have to absorb his lessons”.

Personally, I don’t think the issue so many people are having with Pope Francis is over “his lessons”.  Rather, I think its over how he comes across in his interviews.   Which, by the way, Creative Minority Report reminded us all that in July, during WYD, Pope Francis said: "It's true I don't give interviews. I don't know why. I just can't. It's tiresome," he said. "But I enjoy your company."

Really?  Guess that is a thing of the past now.

Anyway, after reading The Anchoress and thinking on what she said, I commented with the following on her blog (someone asked me to clarify who “we” are in my comment, so I am doing that here):

Me: “I think (could certainly be very wrong) but I THINK the issue for many Catholics is all this "love" talk is reminding us of the HUGE FAILURE of the hippy generation who wanted to just talk "love" and "tolerance". The fruit of love talk without correction or pointing to sin, is...well, what we [the world in general ‘we’] have today: abortion, divorce/remarriage, drop in Church attendance, disbelief in the Eucharist, gay marriage, euthanasia and more. We [the ‘we’ are Catholics who freak out each time the Pope gives an interview] don't want a "Hippie Pope" who talks merely of love- we NEED and desire to hear the good AND the bad of life. Sin. The consequence of sin. Jesus ACTED in love, but He SPOKE about sin, repenting and the consequence of sin- damnation. There MUST be balance and so far many Catholics (myself included) are only seeing the "warm fuzzies" of hippy-type love talk and that makes us very uneasy because we know what a disaster that is. JMO” [end comment]

That is what I think is freaking out so many Catholics here in the United States (and perhaps around the world) with these interviews. (To my knowledge no one is freaking out over homilies etc).  The hippy “love and tolerate” everything movement of the 1960’s is still too fresh in our minds.  We see the TOTAL destruction of that decade and it’s effect on the decades that followed.  Rules were tossed out and the warm fuzzies of LOVE replaced them.  

What’s so wrong with rules? 

Can you play a board game in which each player makes up their own rules and plays by them, while the other players do the same?

If no one follows the rules chaos erupts.  That is what we have especially among the "progressive" Catholics.  No rules...chaos.

The Catholic Church is not a dictatorship because it teaches the consequences of sin.

Jesus Christ made the “rules” clear (at least to my mind).  Jesus ACTED in LOVE, but SPOKE about sin and the consequences of not following the “rules”.   The “rules” are, we must repent of sin or risk our salvation.  That’s a big deal.  As a matter of fact, that is THE most important aspect of every human life- their soul’s salvation.  Jesus was tortured and died FOR our salvation- it is that important to Him.  Shouldn’t the souls of all humans be just as important to all Catholics?

If we (Catholics) don’t tell people the “rules” HOW can they ever win the end game? Salvation.

If they don’t know what sin is because we spend all our time talking about the warm fuzzies of love when will they repent or even know what to repent of?

I think the Pope is doing a great job with getting the “be humble”, “be loving”, “help the poor” message out there, but that is only PART of it. It’s my own personal opinion that he is (so far) dropping the ball on the rest of Christ’s Gospel Message- REPENT!

If people are humble, loving and help the poor but remain in mortal sin… what do the “rules” say about dying in mortal sin?

Catholic Catechism #1033    We cannot be united with God unless we freely choose to love him. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor or against ourselves: “He who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”⁶¹² Our Lord warns us that we shall be separated from him if we fail to meet the serious needs of the poor and the little ones who are his brethren.⁶¹³ To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God’s merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice. This state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is called “hell.” (1861, 393, 633)

Catholic Catechism #1457    According to the Church’s command, “after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year.”⁵⁶ Anyone who is aware of having committed a mortal sin must not receive Holy Communion, even if he experiences deep contrition, without having first received sacramental absolution, unless he has a grave reason for receiving Communion and there is no possibility of going to confession.⁵⁷ Children must go to the sacrament of Penance before receiving Holy Communion for the first time.⁵⁸ (2042, 1385)

Do we or don’t we have to repent from mortal sin?

If people aren't told what sin is, how do they repent from it?

I’d like to hear Pope Francis speak the words that lead to repentance and salvation.  I actually fear all his “love” talk in interviews because they are being received as an OK to continue in sin as if the sin is acceptable. I do not doubt for a moment that this pope has GREAT love for people, but then I never doubted that Benedict or JPII had great love for people also.  I think the greatest way to love people is to tell them the WHOLE Gospel message- love, sin and repentance.  The FULL Gospel Message is that Jesus died for our sins because of love for us.  The sin led to death because of love and if we put sin to death for love of God we will have eternal salvation with Him.  That's the goal at the end of life.  The three (sin, repenting and love) need to be preached together.

When you have “progressives” who support gay marriage and abortion and euthanasia CHEERING for the Pope, you KNOW they are not understanding 1) what sin is, 2) the need to repent from it, and 3) that mortal sin will send them to Hell for all eternity.

That is what worries me every time the Pope gives an interview.  He’s not telling the whole story, only the warm fuzzy bits and people are dying in damnation because they aren’t hearing the words of salvation.  Cardinal Burke in his interview told the FULL Gospel Message, I have yet heard it from Pope Francis.

That’s a problem for me.

To be clear, I do NOT believe Pope Francis is a "Hippie Pope", I merely think his interviews are reminding SOME Catholics of the destructive hippie movement of the 1960's in the United States and it's worrying us.

Pope Francis' Female Cardinals?

Yeah, I know, just when you thought the stupid couldn’t get any more stupid they out do themselves.

The author claims "It's not a joke", he's right... it's a delusion and lie.  Women are not now or ever being named Cardinals in Christ's Holy Catholic Church. Period.

After the author claims it's not a joke, he then claims to know what the Pope has been thinking, just how he sees into the Pope's brain is not revealed in the article.  

Reading this is like watching a game of Twister. But when you don't speak clearly, the progressive mental midgets will get brain cramps twisting their minds around what they WISH would happen. Notice the "it was AS IF" he said...blah, blah, blah.  Someone...perhaps Cardinal Burke, will speak clearly and stop this nonsense.  We can only hope.

Pope Francis contemplates appointing a female cardinal

It’s not a joke. It’s something that Pope Francis has thought about before: naming a woman cardinal. Those who know the pope, both before and after he took over from Ratzinger, say that the first Jesuit pontiff is not only surprising people with his comments, but also with his actions. And this has been happening throughout his first six months in the role.

Those who think that Francis – who has all the simplicity of a parish priest – is a naïve man are wrong. This pope isn’t an ordinary pope. He has come to St. Peter’s with concrete plans for the Catholic Church: he wants to revive Christianity by taking it back to its origins.

 The symbolism of his actions began when he first appeared on the balcony at St. Peter’s, calling himself “a bishop” and asking the people to bless him. Since then, he has wasted no time in making unexpected decisions, which have shocked those both inside and outside the Church.

And he will continue to do so, especially with his plans to appoint a female cardinal. He knows that a woman’s role in the Church is an unresolved issue that cannot wait any longer. He was clear about this during his interview with La Civiltà Cattolica last week. “The Church cannot be herself without the woman and her role,” he said. “The woman is essential for the Church. Mary, a woman, is more important than the bishops. I say this because we must not confuse the function with the dignity.”

 In other words, it was as if Pope Francis was saying: “The Church isn’t complete because the woman’s role is missing.”

How can he introduce that essential component? He answered the question himself during the interview: “We must therefore investigate further the role of women in the Church. We have to work harder to develop a profound theology of the woman.”And that theology, according to the pope, cannot be construed within the Vatican’s walls.” The feminine genius is needed wherever we make important decisions,” he said. 

He may pave the way with discussions that urgently put the issue of a woman’s role in the Church on the table, or better yet, “in front of the altar.” And one of those gestures could be the naming of the first female cardinal. Is that feat impossible? No, because canonical law states that cardinals don’t have to be priests, they can be deacons.Some would argue that women are not allowed to be deacons as they were 800 years ago among the first Christian communities. But this is one of the reforms that Francis has in mind; it is not based on any dogma. A woman could become a deaconess tomorrow if he so desired. 

As Phyllis Zagano of Loyola University in Chicago, an expert on the issue, wrote: “A female deaconess is not an idea for the future. It is an issue for the present and today." 

Zagano brought up the matter with Cardinal Ratzinger before he became pope. “This is something that is being studied,” he told her. Pope Benedict XVI did not follow through but Pope Francis might.The Armenian Apostolic Church and the Greek Orthodox Church, which have close links to the Vatican, both have deaconesses.Any woman who is appointed deaconess can indeed become a cardinal without having to change canonical law.Cardinals serve as advisors to the pope and their primary function is to elect a new pontiff. 

“Knowing this pope, he wouldn’t hesitate before appointing a woman cardinal,” said one Jesuit priest. “And he would indeed enjoy being the first pope to allow women to participate in the selection of a new pontiff.”

I don’t know if any Jesuit priest actually said the above or if Juan Arias is just delusional.  If the "priest" did say it, I would remind him of what just happened to former priest Reynolds who was defrocked and excommunicated for teaching and supporting the issue of women priests (among other things).  

In any case, THE Holy Catholic Church will NEVER see a woman cardinal, bishop or priest.  This is just another fantasy among the progressives.

Will someone shut Sister Margaret Farley the hell up? Anyone?

If a liberal, rejecting Holy Catholic Church teachings, open gay sex, abortion supporting, masturbation toting nun died today would she go to hell?  

In my opinion: probably. (I base this view on Mark 9:42 which warns those who cause OTHERS to fall into sin- see below and the Catholic Catechism that says 'mortal sin' IS in fact Mortal #1861) 

That's about what I think of Sister Margaret Farley who at every turn thwarts the Catholic Church and its teachings, leads the stupid into moral corruption with her "ecumenical" (don't get me started) book about "love".  She attempts to redefine the Church's teaching on gay sex and masturbation etc. because she thinks she knows better than 2,000+ years of Christ's Holy Catholic Church.  She's either to be pitied for her spiritual stupidity or she's evil and willingly doing the devil's work.
  
Yes, I think that badly of this anti-Christ heretic nun and all 'nuns' like her and some Bishops and priests as well.  

To all the Bishops and priests who REFUSE to put a stop to heretics like Sister March-With-Me-To-Hell Farley, you'd better repent too or you will be right behind her!

Jesus wasn't kidding around when he said "STOP AND SIN NO MORE OR SOMETHING WORSE WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!" [John 5:14]

Or when he said it is better to "gouge out" your own eye or cut off your own hand to prevent you from falling into sin [see scriptures below].

For the life of me, I don't know WHY the Church doesn't PURGE itself of these evil loving people (along with the child abusing priests).  They have only ONE place in the Church and that is in a Confessional. If they aren't willing to repent and they continue to teach heresy they need to be EXCOMMUNICATED just like Martin Luther and others before and after him. Why doesn't the Church excommunicate like it once did?  Out of fashion???

Excommunication is NEEDED and required by Sacred Scripture- 1 Cor.5  It is necessary for the salvation of souls!  What could be more important than that? (Oh right... immigration reform! *slaps-forehead*)

Mortal Sin means DEATH- the eternal kind.  No heaven, just eternal hell. There is no second chance after death.  You die, you are judged and you get exactly what you deserve.

The Church, ALL her Bishops and priests deacons and nuns MUST, ABSOLUTELY MUST put a STOP to heretics who are leading people into MORTAL SIN.

If our clergy REFUSE to put a stop to heretics, the lost souls are ON THEIR HANDS and they will give an accounting for it AND be judged for it.

The Church's SOLE purpose on earth is to spread the Gospel SO SOULS CAN BE SAVED.  If the Church's religious REFUSE to do what Christ called them to do, they aren't worth the space they take up in our Church.

That's my opinion on this matter because I am SICK TO NEAR DEATH of the Sister Margaret Farley's of the world - and the Bishops who refuse to do what they are called to do along with them!  Enough is enough. 

They are causing the damnation to souls and they don't seem to care- but they will.  Oh they will.  One day, when it is too late they will care very much.  
They won't be caring about immigration reform or gay rights or riding any buses, they will be caring about where they are spending eternity.

Question:  WHY WON'T SOMEONE IN THE CHURCH TELL HER TO SHUT UP OR GET OUT?  Heretics are NOT to be tolerated IN the Church.  Hasn't anyone read Church history?  The Council of Trent perhaps?

All thoughts are my own... I am NOT judging that ANYONE as ALREADY judged for Hell - NO ONE is already condemned to Hell, judgment comes after death and God mercifully until that very final moment we ALL have the opportunity to repent and be forgiven. What I am saying is that certain ROADS LEAD TO HELL, and liberals in the Church are on those roads (though they are not alone). Hopefully they will get off those roads by repenting and never turning back.  That is my prayer for the liberals in the world to call themselves "Catholics".  

To BE Catholic, you must BELIEVE what the Catholic Church teaches- anything else is a closet protestant or an atheist- take your pick, but please don't call yourself "Catholic", you aren't fooling anyone.
