Discuss Pope Francis & Vatican II

On The World Radio Premiere Of EWTN’s ‘Celtic Connections’

Irondale, AL – EWTN’s “Celtic Connections” radio program has obtained an exclusive interview with Archbishop Agostino Marchetto, the man Pope Francis calls "the best interpreter of Vatican Council II.”

EWTN Global Catholic Radio will broadcast Host Kathy Sinnott’s 30-minute interview with the Archbishop at 8 p.m. ET, Saturday, Jan. 11, and will also make the interview available online at www.ewtn.co.uk at 7 a.m. ET, Sunday, Jan. 12.

During the interview, Archbishop Marchetto talks about misinterpretations of Vatican II and how those misinterpretations can be corrected; about the papal encyclical “Humanae Vitae,” which sets out the Church’s position on contraception; and about the problem of poor catechesis among the faithful. He also speaks warmly of his friendly relations with Pope Francis. Finally, he is asked about a respectful observation he made of Pope Francis on "an error or imprecision," and he reveals what the issue was about.
