The Bachelorette reminds me of how grateful I am to be Catholic

I have watched several seasons (not all) of The Bachelor/Bachelorette on and off over the years. I am not watching this season however because I did watch the previous season where viewers were first introduced to Hannah Brown whom in my opinion is about as intelligent as a bag of rocks and more boring than watching grass grow. 

Try as I might to avoid Brown, a tweet on Twitter from Pat Robertson's CBN caught my eye. 

Hannah Brown, the "Christian" single woman having sex and looking for a husband on ABC's reality show "The Bachelorette" has declared "I am having physical relationships," and "The Lord made sex to be amazing!". 

Apparently, this self professed Christian believes fornication is perfectly acceptable to our Lord because, get this, "I can do whatever. I sin daily, and Jesus still loves me. It's all washed, and if the Lord doesn't judge me and it's all forgiven, then no other man, woman, animal -- anything, I don't know! -- can judge me!"

I've heard this before years ago when I first became Catholic and protestant "friends" on social media were trying to talk me out of being Catholic. They attempted to correct me about going to Confession for my sins by telling me "It's all washed!". Poof! the moment Jesus died on the cross all my sins past, present and future were already washed away so I could sin daily and not worry about it. No need to repent. 

To this day it shocks me that people who claim to love Jesus feel their sinning is harmless and acceptable to God because Jesus loves them. Brown doesn't deny fornication is a sin, she just justifies her sin by saying "Jesus loves me" and "the Lord doesn't judge me". Where in the world did she get that from? 

She is shocked by the responses she is getting from the Christian world after she went naked bungee-jumping with one of the bachelors on the show competing for her hand in marriage. 

I don't know what denomination Hannah belongs to, reports merely describe her as "a devout Christian". 👀🤦 Whoever is 'teaching' her about Christianity is either confused or diabolical and purposely leading her toward Hell rather than Heaven. 

What part of Christianity teaches naked bungee-jumping is appropriate at any time- let alone with two people who barely (no pun intended) know each other while a film crew records it and millions of viewers watch? Or that suddenly fornication is acceptable to God because Jesus loves us? People often forget that the woman found in fornication about to be stoned to death (John 8:3-11) was told to "sin no more" by Jesus. He didn't tell her "Hey, you can continue fornicating because I love you, it's all good." Rather he called out her sin and told her to stop. Same with the invalid at the pool (John 5:1-15) when Jesus said to him, "Behold thou art made whole: sin no more, lest some worse thing happen to thee."

Quote: She [Hannah Brown] told ET she feels "blessed" that producers decided to showcase Christianity on her season. "A lot of times, people get Christianity and religion messed up. Your faith should be something personal in a relationship and it's not to judge others," the Alabama native expressed. "Christianity is something you welcome others into. It should be a place where people feel safe and welcomed... and not to feel judged or shamed."

The irony of that statement. 🤦

Besides my frustration at this type of attitude I am mostly angry. I was really, really angry when I found the Truth in Catholicism because at that moment I knew that almost everything I thought I knew about Christianity was a lie. I had been lied to, my non-Catholic family had been lied to for generations and so many of them died in those lies. Makes me mad- furious really. 

I pray daily for the conversion of sinners. I pray for the blind to see because once not too long ago I was one of those blind idiots stumbling around in protestantism thinking just because I loved Jesus I was saved and had nothing to fear or worry about. I was a fool. I had been fed lies and believed them.

Thank you Jesus for answering my prayers and bringing me home to your Holy Catholic Church. I am ever so grateful.

Bruce Jenner a public abomination

Many years ago, I worked part time in a store owned by a high school classmate of mine.  Each week, a bearded man would walk in dressed like June Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver.  He wore vintage women’s clothing with color matching pumps, a small pill hat, white gloves, pearl necklace and carried a small purse that coordinated with the color he was wearing.  He looked and was ridiculous.

Everyone had to pretend this wasn’t unusual for a man to do- especially a full bearded man who didn’t look feminine in the least. 

He was a man, dressed head to toe in women’s clothes.   An abomination according to God in Sacred Scripture.

Deuteronomy 22:5 (Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition - RSVCE)⁵ “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

For the past several months the media has been reporting that one time Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner was/is/had been “transitioning into a woman”.  Jenner announced that he will "be a woman soon".

Horse hockey!  Pony pucks!  Pigeon pellets!  Cow patties!  Jackass!  Bull cookies! Good grief! 

Bruce Jenner will no more be a woman than I will “transition” into an elm tree. 

Jenner’s DNA will always remain MALE.  He can pretend its Halloween and play dress up for the rest of his life and all he will accomplish is being a mutilated abomination. 

It’s a free country, if HE wants to be an abomination that’s his right in this country, but it is also the right of Christians –and others- NOT to play along and suddenly be forced to refer to Bruce as female. 

Unfortunately, today’s culture is full of idiots and hypocrites who demand tolerance for all the things they want, support and hold dear but absolutely refuse to allow anyone with a dissenting opinion the same right to have a dissenting opinion or the right to voice that opinion.  If you dare share a dissenting opinion in public you are at once attacked and labeled some sort of phobe.    

That happened to child actor Drake Bell, best known for his role on Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh” when the “Call me Caitlyn” Bruce Jenner story broke.  

After that tweet on Twitter, Bell was viciously attacked and forced to remove the tweet because he dared to voice his dissenting opinion on a man pretending to be a woman.

Bruce is not female, HE is male and HIS DNA will always be male no matter how many operations he undergoes or how much hormones he takes.  Bruce Jenner was born a man and will die a man.    

The insanity of our world today is limitless.  What was right is now called wrong.  What was wrong is now called right.  What was once known to be abnormal is now normal.  What was sin is now love, and what was once known as love is called hate.

Bill O'Reilly's dumb Jesus

...that is how Bill O'Reilly portrays God Incarnate in his movie "Killing Jesus".

I recorded "Killing Jesus" and tried to watch it the next day, but it was so awful- truly the most horrible "bible" story I have seen in years.  So horrible that I couldn't make it through the first hour, let alone watch the entire three hour debacle.

Besides all the fiction, O'Reilly rewrites the scriptures and changes the order of things and worst of all depicts our Lord as some clueless mere mortal stumbling through life not knowing anything until his cousin John the Baptist attempts to fill him in.

It was pathetic right from the beginning.

-Mary has amnesia and doesn't recall the Angel Gabriel's words to her (Luke 1:28-38).   Nor does she remember the angels, shepherds or the three Kings who came to pay homage to the new born king - you'd think something like that would leave a lasting impression but not in O'Reilly's version.  Nope, Mary is depicted as clueless and dull-witted as Jesus in this movie.

-Jesus is not shown presented at the Temple where Simeon takes Jesus in his arms and proclaims that salvation has come or his prophecy to Mary about the suffering she will endure because of who she gave birth to. (Luke 2)

-The escape to Egypt happened because Joseph was worried and antsy to get out of there, no angel of the Lord telling them to go and not return until they were told by God (Matt.2:13 and Matt.2:19).  The return is based on a chat worry-wart Joseph had with some traveling Jews after Herod's death.  Pure fiction.

-The worst is poor dumb Jesus...clueless about who he is.  No one remembers the amazing facts surrounding his birth, the prophecy fulfilled, the angels, the wise men...nothing.  It's all a blur as he works hard to be a carpenter like his step dad Joseph- only he's so clueless he doesn't know Joseph wasn't his real father.  Mary with her amnesia forgot to mention the miraculous virginal conception of God Incarnate by the Holy Spirit.  Just slipped her mind!

I gotta give it to the actor playing Jesus, he does a perfect job of looking confused, baffled and just plain old dumb as O'Reilly seems to believe Jesus was.

But I just couldn't take Jesus being depicted as dumb as a pile of rocks.

In all my life, I have never imagined Jesus as walking around confused not knowing who he was/is.  I never imagined Mary forgetting everything that happened to her!  Who could forget an angel telling you you've been chosen by God to carry God Incarnate in your womb?  O'Reilly's Mary manages to forget it all and more.

The movie is insulting and I felt disgusted watching it- especially during Holy Week.

The movie is like an anti-Christian depiction of what an anti-Christian might portray as THEIR VERSION of the story of Jesus minus Christ's Divinity and lots of Sacred Scripture re-writes.  I have to wonder if O'Reilly used a Bible at all or if he wrote this fiction from some pagan anti-Christian source.  This movie is NOT in any way, shape or form something a Christian who knows the Bible and story of Jesus could ever enjoy or recommend.

It's deplorable.  Even worse than the book O'Reilly's publisher asked me to review for him (HERE).

I turned it off and deleted it before I shoved my foot threw my new flat screen.

My time was better spent watching reruns of The Rockford Files on MeTV (I save Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" movie for Good Friday).

Practicing Catholics know its bad when The National Catholic Reporter likes it and declares it "remarkable"!

Remarkably bad maybe!

In my opinion, O'Reilly needs to stick with shouting at his Fox news guests and stay away from a religion he clearly knows little about.

God's GREATEST joy is when people are happy, happy, happy!

Flipping through a mountain of emails today, I came across an email with a link to a story from the HuffPost Live hosted by Marc Lamont Hill about the televangelist Victoria Osteen (wife to the well known Joel Osteen).

Apparently one of Victoria Osteen's summer sermons has just now gone viral and people are finally speaking up about the sheer nuttiness of the beliefs held by these people and their followers.

Here is what she said...(emphasis mine)

Try reading this with the background song "Don't worry, be happy" playing in your head- I seriously think she must have been listening to that song when she came up with this sermon/theology/ideology.

"When we obey God, we're NOT doing it for God - I mean, that's one way to look at it.  But we're doing it for our self!  Because God takes pleasure when we're happy!  That's the thing that gives Him THE GREATEST JOY this morning.  So I want you to know this morning, just do good FOR YOUR OWN SELF.  Do good cause God wants you to be happy.  When you come to church, WHEN YOU COME TO WORSHIP HIM you're NOT doing it for God really - you're doing it for yourself!  Amen!"

Yeah, she REALLY said all that, and yes she and others really believe it.  And I guess she's just being honest about those mega churches... it really is just about themselves.  It's about how THEY feel, it isn't about worshiping God- Osteen admits it.

God's "greatest joy" is when people are feeling happy?  

Guess that means God is tickled pink with fornicators- cause we all know how happy they are frolicking in mortal sin.  How about all those rapists having a good old time raping?  Murderers, murdering?  Liars, lying?  Thieves, thieving?  Happy, happy, happy!

I never heard Jesus preach "The GREATEST joy my Father in Heaven has is when everyone is happy, happy, happy!  So don't obey my Father in Heaven because He said so, do it for yourselves!"

Where's that in the Bible?

Facebook: Virgin Mary Should've Aborted

I received a disturbing email with a link to a Facebook page called “Virgin Mary Should’ve Aborted”.  This atheist Facebook page depicts the Virgin Mary smoking a cigar and a pre-born Jesus image with the wounds of the cross and a tattoo on his arm.

The content is 100% hatred of God.  It is a vile and disgusting Facebook page that's only purpose is to attack people of Faith and attempt to degrade God with assorted blasphemies.

The atheist's reason for these blasphemous attacks on the Holy Infant and Mother of God...?

Besides the written content being offensive, so are the photos shared.  They all take shots at people who believe in God, but this Facebook page has a particular hatred for Christians and Muslims whom are targeted the most.

Most images are FAR TOO offensive and blasphemous for me to display here.

Don't allow this to continue without voicing your outrages on behalf of our Lord and the Mother of God.  And pray for these delusional young people, they are on the wrong path and their souls are in SERIOUS jeopardy - pray for them, they need it.

What is the United States trying to say to Pakistan?

'Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”  When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astounded and said, “Then who can be saved?” Matthew 19:23-25 (NRSVCE)

The United States Government has decided this is the message it wants to send to the people of Pakistan (who on average make less than $2,000.00 a year) in the form of ‘art’.  It's a giant white camel staring at the eye of a giant needle.  Christians who know their Bibles will instantly recall Jesus' words about the rich and the eye of a needle. 

What will the people of Pakistan think?

What does this message say coming from the United States Government?

“Rich Americans are going to Hell, but you all should be fine!” ??

I personally, don't see the point in this particular 'art' being placed outside a U.S. Embassy.  Is there a point the government is trying to make here? Is it because of the camel?  Is the United States now deciding to send Biblical messages through art? 

I am all for spreading Scriptural messages, I just get worried when I see the United States government take a stab at it.  

At any rate, this message in art will cost U.S. tax payers $400,000 and will be displayed outside the new United States Embassy in Pakistan.
