What rights should human beings have in the United States?

Liberal Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted...
...in response to Rep. Niraj Antani making fun of her "chambers of government" comment.

Ocasio-Cortez is no doubt a liberal fruit cake who is and will be adored by the Left as long as she continues with her socialism platform. The Left wants the "right" to free birth control, abortion, gay marriage etc.

I oppose this 100%.

What I want to look at is our "rights" as United States citizens vs basic human rights.

We are very blessed to have the rights we do, "freedom of speech", "freedom of religion" being (in my opinion) the most important. We also have the 2nd Amendment which gives us the freedom and right to own guns (which I support), we've (male, female, black/white) got the right to vote, and the right to trial by a jury of our peers, etc.

These are all good things.

But what about basic human rights?

In a country as rich as the United States, should not every U.S. citizen have a "right" to the basics without socialism? Food, clean water, clothing, shelter and care when they are sick?

Without becoming a nation of socialism, can't we figure out a way that every U.S. citizen can have an actual "right" to the basics? We are taxed to near death in this nation...how is that money spent? We need tax overhaul...but I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

In our wonderful enterprising rich capitalist nation, where the rich have the right to own as many homes as they want with closets the size gymnasiums full of clothes is there no way the poor can have the basics?

The rich can rightfully afford luxuries because they have the money-earned or inherited. I don't begrudge them a dime. It's theirs to spend as they please. I don't advocate targeting them to take their money.

I only question a nation so rich and prosperous as to be the envy of the world, that can't seem to figure out how to give our own poor citizens basic human rights. We give away so much to other nations while too often neglecting our own.

Seems it shouldn't be that difficult for the United States of America to figure out how to better help our poor, but somehow we've been unable to do so.

Instead of giving other nations $BILLIONS of our tax dollars for them to spend on their citizens betterment, how about we reinvest those $billions into our own citizens struggling with poverty?

Why do we have to be the world police and piggy bank?

United States tax dollars in foreign aid...

$5.1 billion to Afghanistan
$1.2 billion to Egypt
$916 million to Syria
$780 million to Pakistan
$474 million to Liberia
$325 million to Columbia
$305 million to Yemen
$179 million to India
$155 million to Turkey
$127 million to Honduras
$117 million to Chad

Do these nations need some help? Sure, do they need all that money at the expense of the poor in the United States? I question that.

Some say "food, shelter, water, healthcare and clothing" are not human rights for our government to grant its citizens.

I see what Jesse Wien is saying, but I believe that way of viewing this situation is flawed. Perhaps we need to look at how we have defined a "right" for our citizens in this country. Perhaps we need to stop being the worlds police and piggy bank and put those funds to work in our nation for our poor so they can have a better life right here at home.

I think we can do better without becoming socialist with a nanny government. There has to be a way...
Catholic Catechism: 2425 "The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with "communism" or "socialism." She has likewise refused to accept, in the practice of "capitalism," individualism and the absolute primacy of the law of the marketplace over human labor. 207 Regulating the economy solely by centralized planning perverts the basis of social bonds; regulating it solely by the law of the marketplace fails social justice, for "there are many human needs which cannot be satisfied by the market." 208 Reasonable regulation of the marketplace and economic initiatives, in keeping with a just hierarchy of values and a view to the common good, is to be commended."
To be clear, I don't want a socialized healthcare like the UK has where they allow patients like little Alfie to die and their courts refuse to allow him to leave the country to seek treatment elsewhere- this is heinous.

The United States can and should do better. We need to figure this out.

Sunday Review

This post is about some things that caught my eye this week. The good, the bad, the ugly and the ironic.

Before I get to that, I've come to the conclusion that the Holy Father has an extremely narrow view of the world. All his constant talk of helping the poor (a given for any decent human being) and pushing for a larger role of women in the Church (deaconesses etc) and of course more "dialogue" is because Pope Francis, for all his globalist talk doesn't actually look at the global Catholic Church. I think he sees only the environment he was in and applies that to the entire world.

What the Church and status of people are/look like in Argentina is not what the Church looks like in the United States, the United Kingdom or any where else. This article by Rome Reports reflects my thoughts on the influence Argentina has on Pope Francis and the Bishops of Argentina.

On Friday, Pope Francis (again) talked of expanding the role of women in the Church...
quote Catholic OnlineIf women are able to freely put their gifts at the service of the entire community, "the way in which society understands and is organized is positively transformed, reflecting better the substantial unity of the human family," he said.
Because of this, a beneficial model for society is one that amplifies the presence of women in social, economic and political life at the local, national and international levels, "as well as in the ecclesial," he said.
"Women have the right to be actively involved in all areas, and their right must be asserted and protected even by legal means wherever they prove necessary."
This, Francis said, involves "expanding the spaces of a more incisive feminine presence."

And:
quote: However, "women can also become fully involved in exchanges at the religious level, as well as those at the theological level," the Pope said, noting that many women "are well prepared to face encounters of interreligious dialogue at the highest levels and not just from the Catholic side.""This means that the contribution of women is not limited to 'feminine' arguments or to encounters of only women," he said, adding that dialogue "is a path that man and woman must accomplish together."
...has he seen the Church in the United States? Women run nearly everything! I'd like to hear the pope speak to the problems in the United States...abortion, euthanasia, birth control, fornication- specifically the number of Catholics who live together before marriage, immodest clothing- when was the last time anyone ever heard about dressing modestly so you don't cause someone else to lust? There are dozens upon dozens of topics that Catholics in the United States (and other countries) need to hear our pope discuss, but all we get is more social agenda speeches about women's roles and the environment. It's disheartening.

Now for the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the Ironic stuff...

The Good...

This story is from last month but I apparently missed it. A friend sent it to me this week. The fantastic story of Father Maniyangat, who died and was taken by his guardian angel to Hell, then Purgatory and finally to Heaven where Jesus spoke to him telling him “I want you to go back to the world. In your second life, you will be an instrument of peace and healing to My people. You will walk in a foreign land and you will speak in a foreign tongue. Everything is possible for you with My grace.."
Quote: "First the angel escorted me to hell. It was an awful sight! I saw Satan and the devils, an unquenchable fire of about 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, worms crawling, people screaming and fighting, others being tortured by demons. The angel told me that all these sufferings were due to unrepented mortal sins. Then, I understood that there are seven degrees of suffering or levels according to the number and kinds of mortal sins committed in their earthly lives. The souls looked very ugly, cruel and horrific. It was a fearful experience. I saw people whom I knew, but I am not allowed to reveal their identities. The sins that convicted them were mainly abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, hatefulness, unforgiveness and sacrilege. The angel told me that if they had repented, they would have avoided hell and gone instead to purgatory. I also understood that some people who repent from these sins might be purified on earth through their sufferings. This way they can avoid purgatory and go straight to heaven. I was surprised when I saw in hell even priests and Bishops, some of whom I never expected to see. Many of them were there because they had misled the people with false teaching and bad example."

I highly recommend reading this story if you haven't already! Good stuff!

The Bad...

Whenever we see Catholic clergy leading people into mortal sin it is bad, there is nothing, zero, nada good to be found in this story for Catholics in the United States.
Quote: "CHICAGO, June 9, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — American Cardinal Blase Cupich has written a glowing introduction to the English translation of a high-ranking Vatican prelate’s new book that calls for Holy Communion to be given to civilly-divorced-and-remarried Catholics living in adultery as well as to cohabiting Catholics."
and...
"Coccopalmerio, president of the Pontifical Council for the Interpretation of Legal Texts, argues in his book that Amoris Laetitia “could allow access to Penance and the Eucharist for the faithful who find themselves in an irregular union.” He explains “irregular union” applies to “all those who are married only civilly or living with a de facto union or tied to a previous canonical marriage.”
He argues that Amoris Laetitia allows for Catholic couples regularly committing acts of adultery to only have a “desire to change and the inability to do so” in order to receive Holy Communion."
The seeds of Pope Francis' Amoris Laetitia are being reaped and the crop is deadly weeds spawned from Hell.

While that is bad, there is hope coming from the Bishops in Poland (God bless them!)

For more hope read: Polish bishops’ conference calls civilly-divorced-and-remarried Catholics to ‘true conversion,’ not communion

The Ugly...

This is ugly and evil. Yesterday in New York City a large group of people decided to protest something (I really don't understand what exactly) by getting completely naked covering themselves only in body paint and walking down the streets of New York in front of families, children and tourists who had no idea what they were in for.

It was disgusting. As Wayne Dupree puts it..."These Americans decided to walk down the streets of New York City with nothing but just body paint in protest of freedom I guess. Most will call it repulsive and childish. I call it a spirit of evil."

I agree with Mr. Dupree.

The Ironic...

Pope Francis is speaking out about "the people being scandalized" by priests and he's putting his foot down! The irony is he's not worried about the scandalized folks still reeling from the things he's said ('who am I to judge?', 'don't breed like rabbits' etc) or by liberal priests leading people toward Hell with heretical teachings. Nope. Rather the pope is putting his foot down (rightly so) to prevent people from being scandalized because priests in Nigeria are protesting the pope's pick for Bishop

Imagine for a moment, that the following statement by Pope Francis were about the people scandalized by priests supporting the LBGTQxyz agenda, or "Catholic" politicians supporting abortion, birth control, euthanasia etc., or priests giving Holy Communion to people in mortal sin, or Catholic clergy and parishes marching in gay pride parades! All we can do is imagine, because our Holy Father is silent on these scandalous situations and the damage it is doing to the laity.

Quote: According to the pope's remarks posted by Kaigama, Francis said, "I think that, in this case, we are not dealing with tribalism, but with an attempted taking of the vineyard of the Lord." The pope also referred to "the parable of the murderous tenants" in Matthew 21:33-44.
"Whoever was opposed to Bishop Okpaleke taking possession of the diocese wants to destroy the church. This is forbidden," the pope said.
Francis said he even had considered "suppressing the diocese, but then I thought that the church is a mother and cannot abandon her many children."
Instead, he said, every priest of the diocese, whether residing in Nigeria or abroad, is to write a letter to him asking for forgiveness because "we all must share this common sorrow."
Each priest's letter, he said, "must clearly manifest total obedience to the pope" and indicate a willingness "to accept the bishop whom the pope sends and has appointed."
"The letter must be sent within 30 days, from today to July 9th, 2017. Whoever does not do this will be ipso facto suspended 'a divinis' and will lose his current office," the pope said, according to the posts.
"This seems very hard, but why must the pope do this?" Francis asked. "Because the people of God are scandalized. Jesus reminds us that whoever causes scandal must suffer the consequences."
If only our Holy Father would put his foot down over the things that actually scandalize Catholic laity on a daily basis around the world! We'd have a whole new Church! Guess the people who are scandalized by these things just don't bother the Pope much.

The intolerance of the self-proclaimed tolerant crowd

By now, everyone has heard and possibly seen on Twitter and/or Instagram the #boycottdolcegabbana or the #boycotteltonjohn debacle by the, oh-so-tolerant liberal gay rights crowd but if you haven’t, here’s a quick recap…[links to all sources used below]

Gay fashion designers and ex-lovers Dolce & Gabbana gave an interview recently that didn’t sit well with other gays like Sir Elton John because Gabbana dared to share his personal opinion that IVF is not how families should be created and that children should have both a mother and a father.

Oh the horror!!  A gay man who supports a man+woman=baby=family point of view!

Gabbana made it clear he opposed using “chemistry” to make “synthetic children” or to “rent a womb”.

Here is the [poor] Google translation of the article:

This was just too much for poor old Sir Elton John and his gay lover who have children they are raising together as a “family”.  So distraught was old Sir Elton that he got on social media sending up a war cry against the entire Dolce & Gabbana fashion franchise.

They must be stopped!!

They must be made to pay for having an opinion that differs from old Sir Elton!

After Sir Elton John blew his stack asking everyone to boycott Dolce & Gabbana products, others joined in because of course no one, absolutely no one is allowed to have a different opinion than the liberal left.

If you dare to have an individual thought or opinion that isn’t approved by the Left, you are boycotted instantly for such an infraction against progressivism.

Gabbana fires back at the hypocritical intolerance of Elton John and his groupies on Instragram...

Sir Elton apparently was all talk and no action or he got Gabbana's message loud and clear, because just a few days later he was seen shopping carrying a Dolce & Gabbana bag!

If you don’t tote the line with gay activists and liberals they are like a feeding frenzy turning even on their own.  Remember that the next time you hear one of them speak of “tolerance” or being “accepting” of other people for who they are or having their own opinions.

These people speak with forked tongues.

Feminist video of little girls highly offensive [graphic warning]

[Warning: graphic language]

This should be hard to watch for decent people- especially decent Catholic and all Christian parents.

This is a video promotion to sell liberal/LBGT/feminist/gaylove/equality t-shirts using little girls dropping the f-bomb and other vile language.

Who are these vile people?
They are "FCKH8.COM"...

What does the mainline entertainment media think of this offensive video?  They don't find these little girls yelling obscenities offensive, oh no.  They agree with the video that the words "inequality" is what is offensive.

EOnline states:

Warning: What you hear in this video may shock you.But we're not talking about the fact that these little girls (ages 6 to 13) are swearing like sailors. We're talking about the phrases they are using regarding gender inequality.
In a video produced by FCKH8.com starring the "Potty-Mouthed Princesses,"
young girls all dolled up in pastel gowns drop F-bombs to remind everyone that society shouldn't be offended by curse words; we should be offended by the fact that women are still paid 23 percent less than men in the work force and the fact that one in five women is sexually assaulted or raped.

At least the readers of EOnline showed they have a brain.  See their comments...

Why isn't this child abuse?

Earlier this year, a swearing toddler was taken into Child Protective Services because of a video made and posted on Facebook of the child repeating profanities and the adults around him laughing.

This was enough to send in Child Protective Services to take the toddler and the other children from the home.

A Nebraska toddler who repeated a slew of profanities in an online video has been taken into child protective custody, Omaha police said Wednesday.
While authorities found nothing criminal in the video, officials from the Omaha police's Child Victim Unit and the Nebraska Child Protective Services took the infant and three other children into custody on Wednesday, the police department said on its Facebook page.
In the "Potty Mouth Princesses" video these children are being used (with their parents full support) to use horrible profanity all in the name of "FEMINISM".  I was asking myself "What were their parents thinking to allow their daughters to do such a horrible thing?"... the answer is they aren't really 'parents'.  This isn't parenting a child.  This is manipulating, corrupting and using a child.  It's child abuse, though I doubt our secular society will see it that way.

Tragic.  These poor little girls.  What monsters they have for 'parents'.

For a Catholic view of feminism how it should be, I suggest reading Pope Benedict's "Holy Women".

Catholic Faith degraded and mocked in Disney 'art'

By Connecticut Catholic Corner

I'm disgusted.

Another vile and disgusting liberal who thinks blasphemy is "art" and all the idiots who flock to these "art" shows to purchase the filth are just as bad as the "artist".

Quote: August 1 – 31, 2014 Artist reception: Friday, August 1st; 8-11PM
José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros is back–with Profanity Pop, a celebration of creative freedom in our time.
Mythology, Religion and the representation of power have manifested in all of the great works from antiquity. With Profanity Pop, Rodolfo pays tribute to specific historical works that have inspired many generations. Universal themes are once again narrated by beloved animated characters, but in the guise of the divine and with all the fragility of martyrs. Away from the paradise of happy endings, the pastel sprinkled drama takes on a vulnerability that juxtaposes subversively with situations never similarly interpreted.
That description is not at all what the "artist" is depicting. It's pure attacks and mockery of the Catholic faith - Mickey Mouse as Jesus Christ, Pope Francis marrying two gay Disney princes, and "Saint" Daisy Duck portraying the Virgin Mary taking a pregnancy test and more.

Title: The Veil of Clarabella
(Mockery of Veronica's Veil)

Title: Saint Daisy and her pregnancy test
(Mockery of the Virgin Mary)

Title: I'm not a sinner, I'm just drawn that way
(Mockery of Holy Communion/Eucharist)

Title: The credulity of Saint Donald Caravaggio
(Mockery of Jesus Christ and Saint Thomas)

And of course, last but not least...
Title:  Who am I to Judge Him?
(Mockery of Pope Francis and his "Who am I to judge" comment)

Quote:  The Monarchy of prejudices and taboos crumble in this story. The disenfranchised reach beyond discrimination, and in this narrative no union is sinful or suppressed. The absorbing worlds of entertainment, fashion, and excesses, with the magic of kitsch, invite us to desecrate the seductive world of POP.

I wonder why Disney hasn't put a stop to this?
Perhaps Disney gives this "artist" their stamp of approval?
Since Disney happily allows "gay days" at their amusement parks you just never know any more how far they will go with their debauchery and filth.

In Christ,
