14th Amendment and President Trump


This blog post is political. 

President Trump has commented that he is considering an Executive Order to stop giving automatic citizenship to children born in the U.S. by illegal immigrants. 




And the Left lost their minds.

I am fully behind the President in this decision and I think the Supreme Court would be too-if it came to that- because of course if Trump does this, the Left and even some on the Right will lose their minds and sue him in court. Not sure how it would work out...courts first or would Congress put a stop to it? Could they? Legally I have no idea who goes first-the chicken or the egg, but I am pretty sure that however it works out, it will be at some point in the courts. 


My thought was that the current Supreme Court would support Trump's Executive Order (should this happen) because no one breaking the law (entering our country illegally) should be entitled to anything but deportation. By breaking our laws to enter the U.S. you should (in my opinion) lose the right to ever be a legal citizen (a resident perhaps-cause lets face it, we can't afford to deport tens of millions of illegals, but not a legal voting citizen). 

Of course, I am practical that way. I don't believe in rewarding criminals. 

Then Jack Posobiec on Twitter pointed out (and then others after him) the historic foundation that would be needed in court to back up such an Executive Order.

At this point, even CNN had to concede Trump's got a real chance at making this happen- again, I believe because the current Supreme Court will back such an Executive Order and perhaps if the GOP gains more control in Congress (please God!🙏) there is a chance-tiny I know- that Congress could get on board too.

Courts and Congress? Should be interesting to watch if it happens.

On Sunday, 30 September, the Missa Cantata will be offered at 2:00 p.m. It is the external feast for St Michael the Archangel. Fr. Matthew Mauriello, Diocese of Bridgeport, celebrant and homilist.

EWTN Press Release: Weekly Holy Hours for Healing and Justice


EWTN To Air Weekly Holy Hours for Healing and Justice


Irondale, AL (EWTN) – Join the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery and the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word in praying that those who have suffered abuse may find healing and justice during a series of Holy Hours for Healing and Justice. The program will air at 6 p.m. ET, every Sunday through December 23. (Find EWTN at www.ewtn.com/channelfinder.)

The Holy Hours will take place at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville (every three weeks beginning Sept. 30) and Our Lady of the Angels Chapel in Irondale, AL. (the other two weeks beginning Sept. 23).

Local viewers are encouraged to participate in these televised Holy Hours.

I'm a Candidate to be a Jesuit . . . and I'm gay


**Warning there is a Youtube image of Jay sitting on the toilet at the bottom of this post- he records himself on the toilet in one of his Youtube videos.

For the love of all that's holy, we must be saved from men like this entering the seminaries.

Jay is a Fr. James Martin wannabe. He even retweets and quotes Fr. Martin frequently on social media. Two peas on pod. 

Some facts about Jay. Jay has a "gay" teddy bear named "Barnsie" who he likes to keep in the back seat of his car "cause he likes it there". Jay likes to wear pink cause...of course, he's gay but he doesn't call pink 'pink', nope. Jay says gay Catholics call pink "purple" cause...I don't even remember at this point its all so insanely convoluted. I think he is trying (and failing) to be funny - of course considering all the other things Jay says and does he might be perfectly serious. Judge for yourselves. 

Jay the Jesuit wannabe actually records himself on the toilet (more on that later), pants around his ankles and all. I am stumbling for words to write this am so baffled and appalled by this guy. 

Let me start at the beginning with Jay's first video. 

Here in his breakout Youtube video he opines that people are wrongly blaming homosexual clergy for abuse in the Church and that there is nothing wrong with being gay (doesn't acknowledge Church teaching that homosexuality is disordered). 


He also states he must not be in the closet about his own sexuality because to not talk about being gay somehow takes away his freedom and would make him a terrible priest. He's really obsessed with being free. 

Jay says he "can't be true to the Gospel" as a gay man if he's in the closet. 

Seriously, he says that. 

He continues on saying he can't even "serve the Church" if he's not "one hundred percent free" - which again for Jay means telling the world about his sexual preferences for males. Jay has wrapped his freedom up in his homosexuality. All of this is completely nuts! 

He's a confused, mentally warped mess and I am sure the Jesuits will adore him. 

 
Looking at the comments so far on his Youtube channel I'd say he's not getting the responses he might have hoped for. 

I left a few comments of my own on his Youtube channel including several quotes on homosexuality. Like the catechism stating the homosexuality is a disorder. 

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. 

At the end of the video Jay proceeds to tell viewers we are not allowed to judge him... apparently he either doesn't know what Scripture says on the matter or perhaps its merely something else he rejects.
Sexual Immorality Must Be Judged9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral persons— 10 not at all meaning the immoral of this world, or the greedy and robbers, or idolaters, since you would then need to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother or sister[c] who is sexually immoral or greedy, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or robber. Do not even eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging those outside? Is it not those who are inside that you are to judge? 13 God will judge those outside. “Drive out the wicked person from among you.” [1 Corinthians 5 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition]  
I am interested to see if he will address any of the comments left. 

Jay has other videos including a video called "A Day in My Big Gay Catholic Life part 1" that is just weird, absurd and appalling. 



The first half of the video Jay records himself waking up, going into the bathroom (flushing toilet sounds) and then he attempts to say the "Our Father" but can't remember it because he hasn't had his coffee yet. He apologizes to Jesus, ditches his prayers and makes his way to the kitchen for his breakfast- which he records making and eating. 

During Jay's breakfast with coffee he asks and answers riveting questions like 

"Gay Lifestyle Question #1: How important is coffee to you? Is it a 'gay lifestyle' thing? It is a Catholic?"

His response is repulsive and bizarre... "coffee is the 8th sacrament" blah, blah, blah. He's trying to be funny, but he's just a sad joke. 

Then he records himself sitting on the toilet and reading "The Jesuit Guide to Almost Everything" by Father James Martin.

The clip at 10.33 really just about sums you up. Vulgar and gauche. Do you really think an aspiring clergyman would be comfortable showing his bare thighs sat on the toilet, literally defecating? Mind you, you clearly don't do irony as the book you're reading is by Father Liberace no less, so toilet paper is indeed about all it's worth.
After the toilet scene Jay goes for a run them comes home and shows himself tossing his clothes on the floor as he gets naked and then showers - thankfully he doesn't record his shower-but does record drying off his lower torso.

I said it before and I have to say it again...its bizarre and appalling- and I am sure the Jesuits will love him. 

God save His Church and us all from men like Jay.

The Michael Voris chatter


Catholic media is full of chatter after Vigano's testimony this weekend and the call for Pope Francis to resign. 

Part of that chatter is focused on Church Militant's Michael Voris for his sudden change of heart about criticizing a sitting pope. 

Full disclosure, I support Church Militant and believe they do a good job in defending and teaching the Faith - particularly when our clergy fail us. I also admire their bulldog attitude in going after corrupt clergy and not letting them get away with it. I think they are doing a very good job and I applaud them daily for their dedicated work. 

That said, I have on my blog disagreed with Church Militant on a few issues over the years. 

One of those times is when I voiced a different opinion on whether or not it is right to publicly criticize a sitting pope.

     In this post, I look at The Remnant's writer Chris Ferrara, the late (God rest his soul) John Vennari of Catholic Family News, Louie Verrecchio of (at the time) Harvesting the Fruits of Vatican II, and myself after Church Militant put out their "manifesto" stating they would not publicly criticize a sitting pope.  

Church Militant's manifesto: 
Quote: “Faithful Catholics need help in persevering through their anxieties and doubts, not continual reinforcement and encouragement of those troubling states. Less faithful Catholics form their judgments of "traditional Catholics" through the lens of perceived dissatisfaction and unhappiness with the Church and the Holy Father. Those who relentlessly criticize the Church, Her leaders, and especially the Holy Father, do immense harm to the Church Herself and discourage both potential converts and those struggling to stay faithful through the crisis that is all around us. The sad reputation of "traditional Catholics" as angry dissidents from virtually everything in the Church today is as well deserved as the reputations of those rightly described as modernists. A line must be drawn when it comes to criticism of the Holy Father, even when he says or does things that would invite appropriate criticism when said or done by those of lower ecclesiastical rank. Errant priests and bishops can be replaced. The Pope cannot. It may make us cringe at times but it always was and always will be true that ubi Petrus, ibi ecclesia. There have been extraordinarily awful Popes in the past but, for all that, the Church not only survived but thrived. The Popes immediately before, during and after the Protestant Revolt showed little recognition or understanding of the catastrophe unfolding before them (not unlike the post-conciliar Popes of our own time) yet, from such unpromising soil emerged an astonishing number of great Saints, and the Council of Trent.”

Soon after writing the above post, I received a flood of emails, some from Church Militant on the subject. I wrote about our email exchange on... 


In this post, after reading email discussions between Voris and others, I talk about the people who -seemed to me- to want to bully Voris into going against his conscience and criticize Pope Francis. While I disagree with Voris on a persons right to criticize a sitting pope, I defend Voris' right to set his own terms and limits to what he will publicly say about a sitting pope. My point was/is no one should be forced into saying or doing something their conscience tells them not to do. 

I did not get into who felt insulted by Voris' "ecclesiastical porn" judgment of other Catholic media outlets. I again disagree with Voris' take, as I am a daily reader of these outlets and have even been a subscriber to The Remnant paper- which I highly recommend. Each of these outlets hit back at Voris and stood their own ground very well. I couldn't have defended them any better than they defended themselves. More on this later.

   In this post, I talk about a Vortex episode in which Michael Voris tells Catholics to "take a chill pill", ignore what the media reports about Francis and wait for the Vatican to tell us what the Pope really means when he says outrageous scandalous stuff. 

I couldn't disagree more with Voris on this and state my reasons in the above blog post. 

Now zoom ahead a year later and Michael Voris is himself calling for Pope Francis to resign. This of course, gave many Church Militant followers whiplash after all these years of being told to "take a chill pill" and "don't criticize a sitting pope" or you risk harming the Church and other people! 

Here are a few of Church Militant's current articles suddenly critical of Pope Francis... 


Quote: "Given the horror that has increasingly seized hold of the Church these past 50 years — and which has climbed to unimaginable heights under the pontificate of Pope Francis — now is the appropriate moment for the laity to offer comment, which we are rightly allowed to do according to canon law.
As many people know, Church Militant has taken great pains in the past to avoid public criticism of Pope Francis with regard to various confusing theological writings, interviews and off-the-cuff remarks.
Out of respect for the office of Pope, and so as not to induce scandal, we have dutifully left the work of publicly analyzing his theological content to those above us, more qualified to address those things specifically and those responses we have covered in great detail.
Likewise, we have made a point of steering far clear of any disrespectful or uncharitable comments denigrating the Holy Father owing to his theological pronouncements — but that was in the arena of theology.
The homosexual clerical sex abuse scandal and resulting cover-up is not theological at its foundation, but moral.
And in this arena, the laity are absolutely duty-bound to speak up, for while we may not all be theologians, each one of us is a moral being and will be judged by Our Blessed Lord on how faithfully we have lived in accord with that objective morality.
With that said, Pope Francis, Holy Father, for the salvation of your own soul, you must step down from the Chair of Peter and do so immediately."[clipped] 
  

Now Church Militant has decided it is the right time to criticize a sitting pope...this is not going over well with those Voris has condemned in the past. 

The Remnant is calling Voris out on his sudden change of opinion... "Now, after keeping silent on Francis’ continual violations Church teaching for five years, Voris suddenly rips the man he would previously piously refer to as “The Vicar of Christ on earth,” “The Supreme Roman Pontiff,” and “Sweet Christ on Earth” to absolute shreds."

I know this sounds lame, but as a Catholic woman just looking for good sound Catholic news, information and teachings on the Internet- I really, really, really wish everyone could just get along. 

What The Remnant, Church Militant, Catholic Family News and other Catholic media outlets and blogs have to offer is wonderful, inspiring, encouraging, uplifting and is often the glue that keeps so many of us sane in the chaos and mess of the Pope Francis Pontificate. We need your voices in the world today. Please try to sort out your differences and where apologies are needed, give them.
