200 members of Congress are urging the Supreme Court to take another look at Roe vs Wade

While I am instantly thrilled to see this, I don't like the timing on this at all. This being an election year the Democrats had NOTHING to run on that truly fired people up...until now.
Washington (CNN) More than 200 members of Congress are urging the Supreme Court to reconsider -- if not overrule -- the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion nationwide.
Thirty-nine Republican senators and 168 members of the House of Representatives, almost all of them Republicans, signed a so-called "friend of the court" brief filed on Thursday by the national anti-abortion group Americans United for Life in connection with a challenge to a Louisiana abortion access law due to be heard in March.
The signers include Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Mike Lee and Mitt Romney of Utah, and Tim Scott of South Carolina as well as Reps. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Steve Chabot of Ohio.
At least two Democrats -- Reps. Collin Peterson of Minnesota and Dan Lipinski of Illinois -- are among the lawmakers who signed.
The brief argues that "Roe's jurisprudence has been haphazard from the beginning."
The decision "remains a radically unsettled precedent" that "has been substantially undermined by subsequent authority," the group continues, adding that court rulings since Roe "clearly did not settle the abortion issue." The group urges the justices to "reconsider those precedents."
Their timing couldn't be worse. From the article, I know this is linked to an abortion case being heard in March, but honestly, couldn't they hold off on this until after the election so that sleepy Democrats and Independents and pro-choice never-trumper Republican voters wouldn't get fired up? I had hoped they would keep their eyes focused on the economy and not the courts.

No question, this is what Pro-lifers have fought for, for decades now. But the timing of this couldn't be worse. It's a horrible position for Pro-lifers to be in. We want abortion ended as soon as possible to save children's lives. Yet if we screw up the timing of this battle, we could lose the most pro-life President we've ever had and flip the courts to lean liberal for decades to come. Should that happen, billions of babies will be slaughtered in the womb-and outside of it, as we've been hearing from several states now. It's evil and disgusting -we can't afford to lose this battle.

The presidential race for Democrats will be about this sole issue now. Democrats had NOTHING to run on...until now.

Most Republicans I know, almost always run on the courts as being one of their top 3 issues for voting Republican, because we have always wanted to get rid of abortion. Republican voters have always known that this is where the real power is in this nation, the courts. Democrats just figured that out with Trump's Kavanaugh selection.

This will turn Independents who were considering Trump to now back the Democrat if the Independents are of the "woman's body, woman's choice" point of view.

We Pro-lifer's all want the same thing, but we have to be smart to defeat such evil.

Trump has done so much for the Pro-life Cause...now this just made it that much harder for Trump to win a 2nd term which would give him 4 more years of packing the courts with conservative judges- we need that to happen. Pray for our President, he's gonna need it against such evil this election cycle.

We have to continue our prayers for the end of legal abortion remembering that even if the Supreme Court does over-turn Roe vs Wade, the states will still have the ability to legalize abortions. The fight won't end at the Supreme Court. We have to continue the fight beyond the Supreme Court.

Keep up the prayers and the fight to end ALL abortions! May God help this nation become pro-life. 🙏

In Christ,

Julie

URGENT! Prolife rally noon TOMORROW

Urgent! Please come to Hartford Tuesday at Noon!

Your action is needed to help protect life in Connecticut!

TOMORRROW, Tuesday, May 21, there will be a rally at the State Capitol in Hartford supporting life and opposing legislation that will harm pro-life pregnancy care centers.

As you may know, this past week the Connecticut House of Representatives voted to pass H.B. 7070 which subjects the advertising of pro-life pregnancy care centers to the oversight and authority of the Attorney General of Connecticut. The Attorney General would  have sole discretion in determining whether the advertising is deceptive or not.

The 24 pregnancy care centers across Connecticut are serving women with life-affirming, pro-woman counseling and health care services. The Knights of Columbus, for example, have supported these centers for many years and they are in great need of our help once again.

Please make every effort to participate in this important rally on May 21 at noon at the State Capitol, and be sure to invite your family, friends, parishioners, and Brother Knights to join you.

Thank you for all of your work to support life in Connecticut!

Last chance for Charlie! You can help save his life!

This is it. The parents of Charlie Gard are looking to get 1 MILLION signatures before tomorrow to save Charlie's life.

Please, take a moment...just seconds, to do what you can to help save this baby's life. They need MORE signatures! Please add your name!

PETITION TO: GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL

Petition to Save Charlie Gard: 10-month-old sentenced to death at London hospital
Save Charlie Gard
Great Ormond Street Hospital,
I implore you to allow Charlie Gard’s parents to use their personal funds to transport him to the United States to receive treatment.
It is unacceptable that you have refused to follow the wishes of his parents and have instead decided to remove his life support, which will kill him.
Please save Charlie Gard! Do not remove his life support. This decision should remain where it belongs, with his loving parents. It is not the purview of the state or the hospital to make these decisions for his parents.
I, and the entire international community, will be outraged if you kill Charlie Gard.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

What the hell has Pope Francis done now?

Pro-Abortionist Nigel Biggar appointed to the Pontifical Academy for Life by Pope Francis
Quote LifeNews: "The Pontifical Academy for Life promotes protections for human life at all stages and supports research on moral and bioethical issues. It is influential world-wide in promoting Catholic teachings on abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research and other issues involving life and family.
Biggar, a professor of theology at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, has made past statements in support of abortion and possibly even limited euthanasia, The National Catholic Register reports."
Our Holy Father - who is supposed to uphold, teach and advance the Catholic faith, has just placed an abortion advocate to the Ordinary Members of the Pontifical Academy for Life.

What the hell?!

Seriously, this sort of crap infuriates me!

It's like putting Nancy Pelosi in charge of the Pro-life March!

Biggar:  “I would be inclined to draw the line for abortion at 18 weeks after conception, which is roughly about the earliest time when there is some evidence of brain activity, and therefore of consciousness. In terms of maintaining a strong social commitment to preserving human life in hindered forms, and in terms of not becoming too casual about killing human life, we need to draw the line much more conservatively.”

“It’s not clear that a human foetus is the same kind of thing as an adult or a mature human being, and therefore deserves quite the same treatment. It then becomes a question of where we draw the line, and there is no absolutely cogent reason for drawing it in one place over another.”

So Biggar is "inclined to draw the line for abortion at 18 weeks after conception" while Christ's Holy Catholic Church teaches all abortion is opposed to moral law.  Pope Francis just tossed moral law out the window and replaced it with a pro-abort who isn't "clear that a human foetus is the same kind of thing as an adult".

What the hell were you thinking Pope Francis?

The Catholic Church
Catecism #2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. 75God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. 76
Catechism #2274 "Since it must be treated from conception as a person, the embryo must be defended in its integrity, cared for, and healed, as far as possible, like any other human being.Prenatal diagnosis is morally licit, "if it respects the life and integrity of the embryo and the human fetus and is directed toward its safe guarding or healing as an individual.... It is gravely opposed to the moral law when this is done with the thought of possibly inducing an abortion, depending upon the results: a diagnosis must not be the equivalent of a death sentence."

Biggar doesn't believe what the Catholic Church teaches on life, so why on God's green earth would the pope put such a man in the Pontifical Academy for Life?

I am, once more, completely baffled by the actions of this pope.

He worries about the scandal some priests in Nigeria might be causing because they opposed his choice in a Bishop (see my post from yesterday), but he apparently has no worries about the scandal HE causes by putting a pro-choice abortion supporter on the Pontifical Academy for Life.

I can't help but think of the prophecies of Anne Catherine Emmerich about those inside the Church working hard to destroy it from within.

Unbelievably sad.

In Christ,

EWTN Press Release: EWTN Pro-Life Weekly

‘EWTN Pro-Life Weekly’ to Debut with January Special

New Show, In Partnership with Susan B. Anthony List, Helps Viewers Create a Culture of Life

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – EWTN Global Catholic Network, in partnership with the Susan B. Anthony List, will launch a new half-hour weekly program that will inform and educate viewers about current issues of importance in advancing a culture of life.
“EWTN Pro-Life Weekly” will launch with a January special on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. ET with an encore on a Friday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. ET.  The show will begin airing each week at 11 p.m. ET Fridays, 10 a.m. ET Sundays, and 3 a.m. ET Mondays starting March 3, 2017.

“Despite the fact that there are many signs of hope, our culture continues to chip away at the right to life from conception to natural death,” said EWTN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw. “I believe this is the perfect time to produce a show that takes pro-life reporting and analysis to the next level. ‘EWTN Pro-Life Weekly’ not only seeks to inform, but also to show viewers how to engage everyone from their friends and neighbors to their elected representatives on the life issues. The show will also focus on those who are already doing great work, such as the Susan B. Anthony List. Our goal is that viewers will be motivated, inspired, and equipped to make a difference.”

“Susan B. Anthony List is thrilled to partner with EWTN on this program that will go beyond delivering news,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “We will call on our audience to take concrete action to enact lifesaving legislation for unborn children and their mothers. SBA List will bring our political insight, legislative analysis, as well as relationships with legislators and members of the media to help create a dynamic, must-watch program. The show will collapse the distance between the White House, Congress, the press, and those at home who care deeply about saving unborn boys and girls, who want to know what more than can do. Viewers will meet the key players, see what they see, and become a part of the grassroots army engaged in high-stakes fights. With a pro-life White House and Congress, our movement is in the strongest position possible to advance historic protections for the unborn.”

Catherine Szeltner, who was first introduced to viewers as a correspondent with “EWTN News Nightly,” will serve as the host for the program. “We want to help viewers become actively involved in the pro-life movement, said Szeltner. “What are the expectations here? What’s realistic? What’s not? What is Congress debating now? How do we hold our lawmakers accountable for their pro-life promises? Each program will feature a call to action segment that is intended to very clearly give people the steps they can take to become engaged in the fight for life. This is the main vision for the show.”

“In addition, said Szeltner, “we will be the authoritative resource for the latest pro-life news. We’ll explain what’s happened each week, especially as it concerns abortion and assisted suicide. We also want to be a platform for dialogue on confusing questions so viewers can walk away feeling more confident about engaging in the discussion. We’ll end with a segment on a group or person who is building up the culture of life.”

While abortion and assisted suicide are major concerns, Szeltner says the show will take a “holistic, Catholic approach,” which means that the show will focus on pro-life issues in all areas and stages of life.

The debut special will air right before the March for Life and will include a look at expectations for the new Trump Administration, ways to get involved with the pro-life movement, and a powerful interview with a survivor of an abortion attempt.”

Mother's Day and aborted babies part 2

Last year I wrote an article called "Mother's Day and aborted babies".  The article was a follow up to an earlier article called "Two very different mothers".

I suggest reading "Two very different mothers" if you haven't already to better understand this post.

Assuming you have now read that article on the Salon's Jenny Kutner's very public abortion and the octopus mother (some of you are going 'WHAT? Octopus mother?' - told ya, ya gotta read the first article!), who was willing to give her own life for the lives of her offspring.

Jenny Kutner's abortion stuck with me and month's later when Mother's Day was coming up Kutner was on my mind a lot. I wondered how she would feel on this first Mother's Day since her abortion.  Many women suffer great depression and self loathing.  They bury it and tell people lies because they don't want to admit that what they did is haunting them and having an effect on them.

Abortion stays with a person their entire life. It does not go away.

So I wrote about that first Mother's Day since Kutner's abortion and as Mother's Day approaches again this year I got a few unexpected comments from Jenny Kutner's mother, Pam Kutner...

These are the automated email copies of the comments left on my blog because as Pam Kutner and I were discussing this, she decided to call me a "nut" and delete her previous (above) comments from the article page.

But now she's back again (see newest comments in the "Mother's Day and aborted babies" article) and now The Federalist has picked up the story as has dozens of Facebook pages.

So here I am, sharing the story of Jenny Kutner's abortion and Mother's Day once more.

In Christ,

Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Protest at Planned Parenthood in New Haven, CT

Protest at New Haven Planned Parenthood Facility on August 22 warns: “PP Sells Baby Parts”

New Haven, CT — In light of recent revelations that Planned Parenthood has been harvesting and selling aborted baby parts, concerned citizens of New Haven are calling for a protest at the Planned Parenthood facility at 345 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, CT on August 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This effort is part of a National Day of Protest taking place at Planned Parenthood offices and abortion facilities all across the United States (http://www.protestpp.com) to raise awareness about Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of aborted baby parts.

Undercover videos (see links below) released by the Center for Medical Progress reveal that Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, with the sanction of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, are involved in the harvesting of body parts of unborn children aborted in their facilities and profiting from their sale contrary to federal laws prohibiting such practices. The videos show high-level Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the prices of fetal specimens. The videos also raise ethical questions about the exploitation of unborn children for financial gain and risks to women’s health if abortion procedures are altered solely to procure more profitable specimens.

As a consequence of this public scandal, several states have initiated investigations of Planned Parenthood and legislation has been introduced in Congress to defund the abortion giant. Planned Parenthood currently receives over $500 million in taxpayer funding annually.

WHO: concerned citizens of New Haven
WHAT: Protest calling attention to PP’s baby parts trafficking
WHERE: Planned Parenthood, 345 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, CT
WHEN: August 22, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to11:00 a.m.

The ProtestPP.com coalition is headed by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, 40 Days for Life and the Pro-Life Action League, and is co-sponsored by fifty state and national pro-life organizations.

Local spokesman Timothy O’Rourke Jr. said:

“All politics is local. We cannot only look to Washington, DC and our state governments to solve this problem. Planned Parenthood is located in large and small communities all across America. Each community with a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic or satellite office needs to take action against the killing of babies and the trafficking of their body parts. Concerned local citizens from New Haven will be sending the message that it’s well past time for Planned Parenthood to be closed in New Haven!”

Why is Ben Carson duping Catholic religious?

This is very disappointing to me.
Ben Carson appears to me to be deceiving these Catholic nuns (among other Catholic religious).  He tweeted the following image:

Did Carson tell them he's not the pro-life man he's falsely pretended to be for months?

I saw the photo re-tweeted by a good holy priest today, of Ben Carson speaking to these clapping and smiling nuns.

This good priest was totally unaware that Ben Carson supports the abortion drug RU-486 and is only pro-life AFTER 6 weeks when a heartbeat can be detected.

Once I shared this video with the priest...he thanked me and expressed his shock and disappointment...

...as did numerous other pro-lifers on Twitter who were duped by Ben Carson.

If you know pro-life supporters who are supporting Ben Carson, PLEASE share this information.  Show them the video.  Don't let them be deceived by this man who falsely claims to be pro-life when he's not.

2nd PP video calls for "less crunchy" methods of abortion

Another Planned Parenthood "doctor" gets caught negotiating prices for baby parts.

She's very concerned about someone "low balling" the price of baby parts and her not getting the best price.

After she's haggled over money...she then talks which methods would be best for getting 'whole specimens' (baby parts).  She's looking for a "less crunchy" method that won't ruin specimens.

If the specimen is ruined...no or less money.

And she's doing this because...ha...ha...ha...she wants...

Despicable.

I pray that the powers that be in Congress put an end to funding this human butchering business and arrests are made.

In Christ,

Julie @ Connecticut Catholic Corner

Bullied for being pregnant...

Just when I think people can't get nastier they surprise me and manage to get even nastier.

A pregnant weather woman, Kristi Gordon, from Global News is receiving hate mail because she is pregnant.

Apparently, people are so offended by her "fat" pregnant belly and her maternity clothes that they are sending her hate mail, asking she get off the air until she is no longer "fat" because they find pregnant women to be repulsive.

No really.

What sort of person does this?

What sort of person sees a pregnant working mom on television, gets to repulsed with a woman carrying life within her, that they take the time to write and send a horrible letter insulting, bullying and degrading her?

Who does that?

It certainly isn't the Pro-Life crowd.

In Christ,

EWTN Press Release: We want your Pro-life videos!

EWTN Wants Your Pro-Life Videos
Watch To See If We Post Your Video
Online OR On-Air During March for Life

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – It’s January – and you know what that means! Hundreds of thousands of our nation’s pro-life heroes will descend upon Washington, D.C. for the 42nd Annual March for Life. As always, EWTN will be there – and this year, we’re inviting you to be online and on-air with us in a new way!
The theme for this year’s March for Life is “Every Life is A Gift.” We’re inviting you to send us a short video that illustrates this theme in your own life. Did you go through with a pregnancy after a difficult diagnosis? Did you or a loved one find life worth living even after being diagnosed with a serious or even terminal illness? Do you love life despite (or even as a result of) your disability?
Please send us a 10 to 60 second video on this theme – or a link to the video from one of your social media sites - and we may post it on EWTN’s own social media sites – which reach more than 600,000 people; it could even be aired! Send in videos NOW to communications@ewtn.com.
Whether you access EWTN from D.C. using your mobile phone or watch/listen on TV, radio, the Internet, and more, you’ll want to tune in to EWTN to get a view of the March that you simply can’t get when you’re in the middle of the crowd! As always, EWTN President and “Bookmark” Host Doug Keck and EWTN Chaplain Father Joseph Mary will anchor EWTN’s coverage. On the ground coverage, which will include interviews with marchers, speakers, and other surprise guests, will be more robust than ever thanks to the intrepid Teresa Tomeo (“Catholic Connection”/”Catholic View for Women”) and the “EWTN News Nightly” team headed by Anchor Brian Patrick.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Jan. 21 with the “Opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life,” which airs live from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. On March Day, tune in at 7:30 a.m. ET, for Mass from the Basilica; at 9 am. ET, for all the pre-March excitement; and at noon ET for the speeches and the March down Constitution Avenue to the offices of your Congressional Representatives. (Check www.ewtn.com for encores.) Also, at 9 p.m. ET, don't miss "EWTN News Nightly's" special one-hour recap of the day's events.
Can’t make it to D.C. Check out EWTN’s pro-life page, www.ewtn.com/prolife where we have posted the Twitter handles of your House and Senate representatives – and a lot more. Let your representatives know that you are pro-life and that, as your representative, you want them to vote that way too!
See you on TV, radio, or live at the March in D.C. - or on EWTN's social media sites (including www.facebook.com/ewtnonline, www.twitter.com/ewtn) as we "virtually" March for Life!
